I should warn you though, AoT is a truly dark, traumatic and heavy anime...it's not for the faint hearted, Death Note is dark, but AoT will rip your heart out. It's kind of like Game of Thrones in terms of character development and shocking deaths. The TWISTS are insaaaaaaaane! you might find it slow in the beginning, but that's how you build a truly compelling story right? you will come to love some characters and despise others; you'll get attached to them & feel their emotions deeply. Take note that this Anime took 10 years, 7 months and 7 days to finish! that's how intricate and carefully crafted the story was made for. I understand that some would not be fond of this Anime due to its aggressive, mature content and violent nature, some might not even like the main character and that's fine. But I'm assuming that since both of you are fans of things that will question your perspective in life, morality, justice, etc....you will love this one. Enjoy guys :) Oh, and as a lover of anime OSTs, the music for AoT is such a masterpiece and is so iconic in itself! if South Korea is leading in the hiphop/pop genre, Japan is more on rock and very epic sounding soundtracks and AoT showcases that to a tea! all the songs should be performed in orchestral recitals or whatever lol
