Fem!Anakin Appearance Poll

Alright, here’s what I have in mind for Fem!Anakin -- Ani. At her core, she’s a tomboy. She’s rebellious and reckless. She genuinely wants to do good for the galaxy as a Jedi and is frustrated that she can’t. She’s also constantly aware that she’s the ‘Chosen One’ and angsting over the expectations that come with that role. Above all, she’s very much a snarky teenager (19) at this point in her life, but also still fundamentally good at heart.

She’s not necessarily naive in all things, but she is pretty optimistic and idealistic. A dreamer, essentially, believing that if she does everything right, everything will turn out right. ‘Cause remember, this is before the war, before the events of Attack of the Clones, and most importantly, even before she loses Shmi.

Meanwhile, Obi-Wan is her ‘single-dad’ big brother figure, and absolutely run ragged trying to keep up and raise her. She’s still crushing on Padme, but there’s more idolization there than pure romantic (not that the yuri is completely absent lol). And she still believes in the Jedi Order at this point. That’s what makes her so frustrated by their ineffectiveness infecting her when she's supposed to be the Chosen One.

I say all of this to give an idea of Ani's personality in this story. I want her character to influence the appearance I go with for her (and vice versa, going forward). Think tomboy, think snark, think teenage rebellion/angst/insecurity, and think ‘so dearly wanting to change the galaxy for the better but frustratingly stifled due to her age and role’. I have three options prepared, and my own thoughts on each, but I still want to test the waters, so to speak.

For the first route, the pics I have prepared are, I’d say, the most contextually ‘Star Wars’ coded — both outright with lightsabers in hand and heavily implied by using ‘Jedi’ powers. They make for a very fitting view of Ani, but also a sort of… standard one. I think it’s the safest route out of the three, but that’s not a bad thing. This Ani would be very at home in the Star Wars universe.

The second route requires a bit more suspension of disbelief, ‘cause the pics I have for it are much more general in their context. Nothing really ties this Ani to the Star Wars or Cyberpunk ‘verses. BUT-! I do like the look. We love a short-haired tomboy punk (the haircut reminds me of canon Anakin in the Clone Wars show-era) and the tats… Well, they’d certainly make this Ani unique, and I’d probably lean more into her rebellious side with this appearance.

The third route is, by pic context, a mix of the previous two routes. I have both ‘Star Wars’ coded pics, and more general ones that could fit in just about any setting. But it also takes a unique direction from the other two options. Here, Ani won’t have grown out of the blondeness of her childhood. Still valid, Anakin/Ani have always been blonde (where else does Luke get it from?), they just grew out of it in their canon male appearance. She’s also a bit more ‘fem’ here, while retaining plenty of ‘tomboy’ to work with. Despite the blondeness, this might be what I would consider most canon for a genderbent Anakin.

In the end, I reserve the final say for myself, but I do want to hear and see what people think of the different options. Ani will definitely be an important character, and she deserves at least this much consideration going into her appearance, I think. Especially since I’m the one who genderbent her here lol.
