November 2024 Story Poll (Kinda...) #2
Added 2024-10-30 16:58:41 +0000 UTCNow for the nitty gritty munchkin-y stuff: MC powers. The MC selection shouldn’t change much. I’ll be putting up two choices here.
1 - Inspired Inventor+ (or as I’ve taken to calling it personally: Inspired Skill-Maxer). Essentially, it’s Inspired Inventor, but not just limited to tech. I’m not the best with tech/tinkering/inventing so I think this is a good compromise. Points can be put into skills/talents just like they can be put into tech. Point gain will be steady but this is very much the weak-to-strong option.
2 - Essence META. For this one, I’m thinking either an OC Essence (Conqueror/Liberator/Crime Lord) or Humanity Fuck Yeah/Humanity Unchained. This one will be strong right off the bat. It facilitates a bit of growth, but not nearly as much as Inspired Inventor+. The reason for Humanity Fuck Yeah/Humanity Unchained is honestly a kinda personal/smutty one. “Human’d” (alien girls with human/human worship kinks) is lowkey one of my favorite fetishes. And in Star Wars…? Yeah.

On another note, wouldn't it be glorious if should anyone pray to the Omnissiah, they would sync up with their implants' machine spirit and prevent cyberpsychosis? It wouldn't flip the landscape of Night City or anything, right?

2024-10-30 17:29:28 +0000 UTCSince it's a SW/Cyberpunk crossover, it's safe to say that tech will play a decently big role. As such, may I suggest a focus on the Adeptus Mechanicus 'skill tree'? That way, instead of delving deeply into advanced tech, it's more about zealotry and gnarly nightmares inducing tech butchery. More importantly, it would amusing to see the MC rizz up a waifu's chrome in Binharic Cant to the confusion of everyone else. And since prayer to Omnissiah obviously works, surely the Jedi and the Sith won't take an exception to that, right? It's not like they have a history of wiping out other systems of belief, right?

2024-10-30 17:04:43 +0000 UTCIn my opinion with in inspired inventor, you should only allow for technologies which are Canon into the settings you are merging. Because otherwise at some point it’s just going to devolve into a tech porn power wank. And that is honestly not something I’m particularly fond of being the main point of a story. This is my own opinion, but I personally prefer seeing the implications and impacts of new technologies on a society or civilisation rather than going into the nitty-gritty of the tech itself. But that’s just my opinion. Either way, this sounds like a premise that would be fascinating from the outset. I don’t think there’s any other story quite like it out there yet and I’m very interested to see where it goes either way.
