November 2024 Story Poll (Kinda...) #1

November will mark the second month of this new… thing I’m doing. By that, I mean directing my writing focus one month at a time with your help as my Patreons through monthly polls. I’m already running into complications with that though.

See, I had a new idea for a story a few weeks ago, and my muse latched onto it hard. So November’s story has already been decided. But I’m intending for this to be an exception, not the norm. December’s poll should be much more in line with the first poll (Something like 1: continue the current story, 2: return to Fae Gamble, 3: return to the Grind, etc etc.). To make up for the lack of choice this month, though, I thought I’d put some aspects of this new story up for the poll instead. It’ll help me finalize some things anyway.

First of all, though, I need to give an elevator pitch for this new story:

KYBER-PUNK 22BBY is a Star Wars/Cyberpunk crossover, which I think works really well together, especially the way I’m doing it. Basically, it’s going to be Night City in Nar Shaddaa (the Hutt Smuggler’s Moon). So Star Wars is the base setting with Cyberpunk merged into a (relatively) small corner of it. For the initial arc at least, the story is going to be mostly focused on the Night City/Cyberpunk section. I imagine it as a Cyberpunk story with Star Wars seasoning. As it goes on, it’ll expand/transition into the rest of the Star Wars galaxy more and more. But even for the first part, it’ll be corpos, gonks, and chrome + aliens (Twi’leks? Yes, please!), blasters, and Jedi.

As you might expect, crime and violence are going to feature heavily. Think less Star ‘Wars’, and more Star ‘Breaking Bad’. Long live the Gonk Cartel. All praise El Gonko. No matter what route I take, the MC will be ruthless, ambitious, greedy, and just generally sinful. Expect plenty of cartel conquests/very hostile takeovers/crime politics and maybe even a ‘Liberator’ angle.

I even have a working tagline for the story: “Fuck a corpo. Fuck a Hutt. Fuck a slaver. Fuck a Jedi. Fuck ‘em all. Night City stands alone on a chrome edge.”

I promise crime and chaos, choombas and chrome, cyber and kyber, a harem of babes — both chromed-out and alien, violence and more violence, and most importantly of all… dead fucking slugs.
