The "real life emoji" thing I got figured out. When I need to acknowledged something is funny but not funny enough to laugh, I simply say "lol". Most of my close friends caught on and does it too. Even my wife. Been like that for over a decade now. Works super well.

In the same way that it's trashy to joke about the Holocaust, we ought to find it trashy to joke about 9/11. An occasional joke? W/e. In every video? Unnecesary. I watched that unfold live. I'll never forget it. For the most part, I ignore ignorant comments on the subject. This is one thing they could avoid and have zero impact on their content. It was a request. I'll keep supporting regardless. I support free speech. By the same token, I have a right to say, "Hey, that's not funny/cool/appropriate."

Yeah that's part of the reason I made the comment, to educate and to help people understand more. I got my A&P fairly recently (I've been an A&P for a year now). It doesn't help that we are losing more A&Ps to retirement than we are gaining from the new generations. I'm more than happy to answer any questions anyone has to the best of my ability, and point people in the right direction if its something I don't know. It also doesn't help that the overall community regarding A&Ps is lowkey kinda toxic at times. Boeing's situation is far more ridiculous than you hear on the news, and you won't find many airlines and manufacturers that are as incompetent as they are (at times). I can talk about some of the incidents I know about if you or others want, since its educational and public knowledge. Do you think it would be lucrative to make vidoes talking about that stuff? Cuz I won't even know where to begin with that XD. I might need an interviewer or something to help me not go on an ADHD squirrel montage XD.

Yeah, but on the other hand. To non-Airframe and Powerplant mechanics it looks very iffy. When you combine that with the nonsense that has been occurring with Boeing Aircraft lately it could cause people to panic, if they are not informed beforehand. It also doesn't help that Hollywood has filled the minds of the general public with myths about airplanes and flying. Today, most folks hear the term A & P they are thinking about a grocery store not an aircraft mechanic. You guys need to make yourselves more well known so the general public will be less afraid to fly.

Aircraft mechanic here. The tape on the wing looks like speed tape. That tape isn't actually holding the wing together, I assure you that wing is fixed correctly. More than likely they are using it to seal the panels on the wing from moisture. The speed tape has great resistance to extreme conditions and better aerodynamics compared to other tape. Speed tape is often used in maintenance for minor, non-critical or structural repairs.
