2025-01-05 16:01:35 +0000 UTC'uncomfortable truth - middle age isn't 50, it's 38' two points. first and foremost, people can/are living longer, so not sure 38's really 'the middle' anymore. secondly, fucking no one was saying 50 is middle age. they're now saying '50's not that old'. getting to 35 and having your 'mid life crisis' was still very much the thing. you might be confusing it with like, retirement ish ages, which aren't supposed to be anything close to 'worked half your life, relax the back half', no, they wanted you to work till 65 and then die at 67. that has nothing to do with 'middle age', however.

Especially if it was said in jest. Because even in jest, they still have to perform their duties as a Mandatory Reporter. As for censoring the word suicide. I'm recovered now, but was suicidal for most of my life. from about 14 to 35. I've been free for almost two years now. Hearing the phrase "unalive" or a BEEP whenever the word was used just brought more attention to it and was far more likely to make me think about it. It made it seem like a joke. As if it's not being taken seriously. Yes, lots of people do joke about it, but when you're watching a serious video that they use the term "unalive" it's actually irritating. The practice came about as a means to fight bullying. And had the opposite effect.

Unplug the power cord, give it about 15 + seconds then plug the power back in, and then power the system back up. Restarting you're just hitting the restart option. Power-cycling can often help better than just restarting.
