She promoted the publication of scientific dissemination texts in Spanish, thanks to which the Science Collection of the Economic Culture Fund was created, where she invited university researchers to write science books for a non-specialized public.

Nació el 22 de marzo de 1938 en el puerto de Veracruz. Ingresó a la Facultad de Ciencias de la UNAM y fue la primera mujer en graduarse en física. Promovió la publicación de textos de difusión científica en español, gracias a lo cual, se creó la Colección La Ciencia, del Fondo de Cultura Económica, donde invitaba a investigadores universitarios a escribir libros de ciencia para un público no especializado.
