Making an exception for actually dropping an AU doodle here where Kiran actually gets to hold a child, if y‘all remember the timeline I posted a while back for the possibility that Kiran & Grima have children which AGAIN I consider not canon because they both should not be parents, Fire Emblem Engage would happen since Sombron would be their youngest child because I have decided all Fell dragons hve to be connected to Grima due to the circumstances of his creation as I told some people already in a very VERY long and elaborate essay on why this makes sense💃

Now if you think about the plot of Engage though this is not necessarily a good thing 😬

To quote myself on what I wrote a friend :

Engage happens because Kiran gets killed along with the entire family except Sombron who gets spared because he‘s just a little child and the „mercy“ he gets is getting exiled to Elyos.

He basically got yoinked to Elyos as child with nothing but the Emblem of Foundations - in my lore literally an emblem version of his mother that he stole before he got exiled- to keep him company and then he just keeps constantly facing discrimination there for many years because of the way he looks and this along with the obvious trauma of losing his family that he never recovers from turns him incredibly bitter and well, slowly into the person he is in the Engage main story, he tries to cover up his loss of his family by making his own and surrounding himself with so many children but it doesn‘t fill the void and he can’t connect to them at all because they’re just a replacement and he’s too broken to actually get emotionally invested in any of them and he just ends up abusing them and treating them like tools which in return makes Emblem Kiran just… head out.

She might just be a copy of actual Kiran but she‘s actively watching Sombron turn into a carbon copy of her own abusive mother and falling straight back into the cycle of abuse thatshe worked so hard to break away from, so she just nopes out and doesn‘t let herself get summoned again by him, which she CAN do as the Zero Emblem since she‘s the one who created the Emblems.

Just ends up breaking Sombron more and unfortunately since this was the last true thing connecting him to his home and actual family and well, furthers his at this point manic plans to want to go back home even if it means destroying Elyos aka. The plot of Engage ™️ happens and he‘s so desperate after literally over thousand years to see his Emblem (literally the ghost of his mother) again. But even if he would be able to return to Askr, they‘re all dead. Even if they weren‘t the actual Kiran would be long dead since over a thousand years have passed since and she‘s not immortal and just a simple mere human. Nothing is waiting for him.

Still absolutely hate Sombron but the thematic parallels to Kiran & Grima’s story and upbringing and the tragedy and also tons of overall Fell dragon lore Engage fed me that I can work with will never have me hating the game 🤌
