Succubus had immense success and felt a lot like how the Sakura games around 2017-2019 were. Despite all of that i still haven't finished the third part simply because it just... started losing it's charm?? I enjoyed the first and second part but i don't believe that it could be worth checking out the rest. Regarding the sequel stuff, a lot of earlier Sakura games are prone to blossom (haw haw) if they had a sequel if said sequels were made at that time. I feel like if Winged Cloud went back to those games nowadays and made a sequel it would feel too far off from the initial charm and magic those games would originally had. And it is kinda astonishing how the games that do end up get sequels aren't per se the games i had most excitement for. TL;DR, Succubus sequels exist because of it's success compared to it's other titles that have come out over the last few years and sequels for older games would be darn good if they were made at the time, but not now because i feel like Winged Cloud's current ambition does not align with the ambition that they had when they made those older games.

I do get your point, but it would be very interesting to know the sales numbers for the titles. The ones that were covered in Youtube have thousands of reviews where the newer titles only have a few handfuls each.

Having a series being exposed to fans of people like lost pause who only like these kind of series ironically doesnt sound like it will help as much as you think. Those kind of fans dont actually buy and play the games themsleves and would get mad at any weirder fetishes inculded in the games. If they actually like the games as much as they talk about it they would play them or buy. There would be no point in make a game that no one would actually play over ones that people do at the end of the day and from a personally perspective I would rather have games that people really like then once people only like ironically and look down on them.

Honestly, these Succubus games feel sort of stale. The art is amazing, but the story gets less and less fresh with each installment, just new sex positions, threesome combinations and 1 more girl every other game or so. Not much left to experiment with. Its still decent stuff, just wish this attention was spread out to more titles is all. I'd KILL for a Spirit sequel, so much untapped potential with no H scenes in that game. Even a short spin-off would be amazing, and give you a chance to test the waters. The world still wants it, and it would be notized by the likes of Lost pause and other promoters unlike these Succubus titles. You know they're still talking about it out there? It introduced a lot of people to visual novels. Someone even tried to make a fangame. I get that it would be different with a new writer and all, I dont think anyone would mind, as long as the original plot is respected. My 2 cents as an avid follower.

Amazing! That's a smile to live for on the right.
