Hey everyone, and happy New Release Monday! Today, I am launching the next map in the CoS: Reloaded series (Written by DragnaCarta & the Eidolon Team) called: The Whispering Wall from Arc J.
If you're not yet familiar with the CoS: Reloaded guide, you can check it out here for free! It's a fantastic overhaul of CoS, which adds a ton of depth to the written module and has many new locations.
Though the Whispering Wall is called out in the Yester Hill section of the book, CoS Reloaded adds a really neat encounter here with Strahd, which you might benefit from this map as a background piece to run this.
If you're not running CoS Reloaded, no worries! I made a version without the fog wall as well, so it will make for a great rocky hills map for any outdoor encounter (Especially one with a more tribal theme).

This map is gridded at 30x20 and features the outskirts of Yester Hill as it meets the border of Barovia into a thick wall of fog that seems to go on forever. I wanted the surrounding terrain to feel jagged and rocky with sparse, dead, and twisting trees. I want my Yester Hill maps to use more reds and oranges in the terrain to represent the corruption of the Gulthias Tree that dominates the hill.

Additionally, you will find various burial cairn stones and other symbolic stone patterns left by the tribal blood druids that worship Strahd and keep to the old ways.

I added a few light sources, which, of course, are optional as there is a no-light version of each map. This was partly to light the way for druidic rituals here, but also because it helped add a little light variety to the map to make it pop!

I also made a version of the map that does not include the fog wall, so just in case you wanted to use this for any nature map in your own games, you have some map options.

RecentlyI included weather overlay files instead of having the weather baked into the map. With each new release, I will include each weather file in both 4k and 8k as a .png, which you can use to add to the image yourself, double-stack if you want more pronounced weather, or even add to your own VTTs as you see fit.
I will also provide interior/exterior weather versions as applicalbe so if you're running VTTs with foreground options, you can use both interior and exterior weather tiles as overlays to move tokens "under" and make invisible when players enter interior locations.
This will help with:
File organization, as there will be a lot fewer map files to go through
More versatility with how you can use my weather on maps. Want rain on a Sunny Day? Want Sun Rays to show through the Gloomy clouds? Want to mix/match fog and rain together? It's all possible now.
Smaller file size. Quicker downloads and less storage on your hard drives are always great! Plus, this will greatly reduce my Foundry VTT module size, making it a little easier to use with other platforms like The Forge, which has tiered size limits.
Use my weather on other maps! They are no longer tied to my maps. Like my rain file and want to use it on another creator map you found? Go for it! (As long as you're not selling it!)

Click the download link below for your tier to download all the map files.

The CoS Reloaded collection is really growing, and I'm so excited to be a part of bringing this incredible supplement to life. I also cannot say enough good things about the Dragna / Eidolon team, as they truly are a pleasure to work with.
Next up , I am mapping my way east of the Luna River as well as tackling a more gritty factory map for the industrial city of Lothburgh. I will also be collaborating with another incredible map creator soon for an iconic location from a very popular D&D-related video game for a massive interior / exterior encounter map that I hope you all love!
Thank you all for your continued support, which allows me to support fellow creators and artists by commissioning asset work from them, as well as hire Talanor, who has done an incredible job on the Foundry VTT development front. Your support means the world to me!
Cheers friends,
DM Andy
