Hello everyone, and happy New Release (Spooky) Monday! Today, I am releasing my newest map; The Gothic Toy Shop!
Perfect for locations such as Blinsky Toys from Curse of Strahd or other campaign settings like The Crooked Moon or adventures set in the Domain of Dread, Odaire, to fight the darklord Maligno.
Additionally, this map was a nod to a number of my favorite horror movies, and I've added fun little movie refs for you to find! Adding a little light-heartedness to your dark fantasy games is great for changing up the pace and giving your players a little joy before returning to torturing them with all the horrors of the world.

This map contains four levels for you and your players to explore:
Exterior
1st Floor (Toy store & workshop)
2nd Floor (Living quarters, bedrooms, and another workshop)
Clocktower
Starting with the exterior, I added a little corn path (nod to the opening scene of Sleepy Hollow). You'll find a fun scarecrow wearing a jester's hat as the building comes into view. A two-story shop with an onion-domed clock tower. A hanging marrioneete greets the players as flickering jack-o-lanterns with their wicked smiles stare at your party as they enter. Two bay windows display a jumbled mess of hundreds of dolls, starting blankly at you from their shelves.
Exterior of Toy ShopA clock chimes as a doll dangles beneath it, suspended by a hangmans noose. You'll notice the eerie "13th hour" a the top of the glowing clock and between the sounds of the howling winds, you can hear the ticking of gears echoing from the onion-domed roof.
As you enter the shop, you are greeted by the jovial shop owner, excited to finally have some visitors. They are eager to show you around the various displays of all the fun and creepy toys that have been created.
Toy Shop FloorIn one of the side rooms, you will find a wall with a painted mural containing a gothic castle on a hill surrounded by a hilly pine forest, a set of brightly colored wagons at the foot of a large waterfall, a windmill on a hill and a gothic village at the foot of the hills. Remind you of anything? What about the two other large dolls in this room?
Mural in Back RoomIn the back of the shop, you'll find the toy maker's workshop continaing a woodworking room, gears for any of the clockwork toys, paint and a sewing setup. When there are no customers in the shop, the owner can be found back here working on their macabre inventions.
WorkshopShould you be allowed upstairs, you'll find a small kitchenette and dining area with a hallway leading to four rooms:
Den / Study featuring a heater and bookshelves. Forlorn violin music can be heard from this room at all hours of the night.
Master Bedroom with a rug bearing the resemblance of a creepy shadow (Recognize this classic 1922 silent film?)
Child's Bedroom which looks like it has been empty for years. Cobwebs and covered furniature tell a story here... the details are up to you to add! What happened to the little girl that lived here?
Storage room with a wooden cage for storing animals. Perhaps this was the cage that was used to transport the owners pet monkey?
At the end of the hall, in the clocktower is the master-workshop. This is where the toy-maker creates and sketches their morbid ideas. Attached to the wall is a wooden ladder which leads to the clocktower in the onion-dome roof for service. Hanging from the rafters here are a number of wooden dolls with no facial details.
Master Bedroom and Little Girls Room
Inner Workshop
Clocktower GearsWhat horrors will your party find inside of thos strange and fantastical toy shop?

I hope you have enjoyed my Gothic Toy Shop! How many movie refs could you find? I was super excited to make this map and thought October would be the perfect release for it. Great for either a fun Halloween adventure or even a Christmas time adventure! Maybe I'll create a Winter's Grasp version for some spooky Santa's Workshop encounters.
I still have some more spooky goodies this month lined up, including a stretch of coast with the ruins of former buildings that have long since been abaondoned. Some say at night, the sound of thousands of crabs can be heard clacking in the darkness. Others have whispered of evil and nefarious creatures lairing here and the locals avoid it (except the occasional brave fisherman looking for an easy haul of crabs).
On the Lothburgh front, a vile river monsters lurks in the water runoff tunnels near the river Jass. A few folks have been reported missing and it's up to your players to find the creatures lair and make the river front a safe place to be again!
Thank you all for your continued support of my work and for beliving in me! It means the world to me!
Cheers friends,
DM Andy
