Hello everyone, and happy New Release Monday! Today, I am releasing my fifth map for the incredible Lothburgh world: The Heaven's Gate Bathhouse.
Lothburgh is a new campaign setting being designed and developed by Lunch Break Heroes, and I've been asked to provide maps for a gritty & dark world. I've also been helping to play-test the adventures and subclasses, and have been having a blast. Lothburgh is a setting that takes place in the city of Lothburgh, a sprawling industrialized city still healing from the scourge of vampires that attempted to take over the city. An event named "The Horror".
Your party acts as a band of newly formed private investigators who are hired to help with all manner of cases. From missing persons to paranormal activity in and around the city streets and various boroughs that connect the population.
One such borough is Central, which serves as the central point of Lothburgh as well as the seat of the government. Here, both ends of the economic classes live within this sprawling borough. From the rundown tenement apartments (my last map in this series) to the opulent government buildings and those businesses that support them. Your party is sure to be sent to investigate the various locations of the city in search of clues about recent murders and missing persons, leading them to this sweet-smelling and relaxing location: Heaven's Gate Bathhouse.

This map is set on a 25x30 grid and features the interior of the bathhouse. I featured a number of real-world classical art, all bathing inspired such as "Venus & Mars Bathing" by Giulio Ramano (1526), "Diana & Her Nymphs Bathing" by Rembrandt van Rijn (1634), and "Girls Bathing" by Luini Bernardino (1520) all of which you might be able to spot within the fescos of the entry way walls or painted along the tiled floors of the baths themselves.

Main bathing poolThe flow of the map has you enter the main reception area to pay and grab your towels for the day. I added two mirrored sides with bathrooms and changing rooms. To the right side is the office where admin and clerical work is done, and to the left side is the staff area where barrels of wine and fresh fruits are stored to serve guests throughout their stay. Maybe additional clues are valuable information are hidden in either of these rooms?

Bathhouse officeThe bathhouse has a total of 8 bathing pools with a mix of semi-private and public pools. Both the left and right have semi-private rooms, but the layout of the bathhouse area is somewhat open to allow for steam to flow throughout the entire area. Lattice work walls allow for the healing steam to travel throughout the various bathing pools and cover the entire tiled covered bathing area in warm heat.
Semi private bathing poolThe back of the bathhouse has a series of three connected pools with water flowing through them to keep everything nice and fresh. This room was very much inspired by the Roman and Greek bathhouses of our ancient world.
Large public bathing poolsAnd finally, in the back, both on the left and right, are the saunas where one can sit and steam in a rare moment of relaxation in this bustling and gritty city. It would take all day to cleanse yourself of the soot-filled air of the streets of lower Lothburgh!

I hope you enjoyed this release! Creating a bathhouse was new for me, and this was a very fun map to tackle. Makes me excited to eventually re-do my Sanguine Rose Brothel map in a similar, but more gothic style.
Within only a bit of a week left before October hits, I'm super excited to head into my favorite spooky month! I have a slew of spooky and horror-related maps coming your way over the next few weeks, which I'm very excited to share with you all.
I hope you all continue to share wonderful stories with your friends at your various tables and make memories you'll never forget. Thank you ALL for your continued support of my work.
Cheers friends,
DM Andy
