Hey everyone, and happy New Release Monday! Today, I am bringing you the next map in the CoS: Reloaded series. This time, the perilous road to the Amber Temple, where the giant goat Sangzor's will test your party's true intentions. I am happy to release Sangzor's Test!
And if you're not running CoS Reloaded, this map will still be a perfect map for any dangerous mountain snowy roads you might have, such as in Icewind Dale or a snow-themed campaign frame from Daggerheart.
If you plan on running this encounter from CoS: Reloaded, you can find that write-up here.
The goal of this map was to create a sense of height and absolute danger in this harsh landscape. While there is a "path" somewhat clinging to the side of the mountain, sharp jagged ice crystals have formed deadly spikes that give an ominous feel to the landscape.

To the left, you have the mountain covered in just snow and jagged rock, void of any vegetation at this height.

To the right, you have a plunge to the depths below. Any adventurer who is thrown off these icy cliffs might be lost to the mists forever.
To break the monotony of just ice and rock, I added a natural stone archway in the center of the map. If you're using the encounter from Sangzor's Test, you can place Sangzor here on the top, or maybe you can add a lurking monster waiting for any prey that's foolish enough to wander into their hunting grounds. (Does anyone remember that one Ice Troll on the path to High Hrothgar??)
I created versions of the map with and without this arch, and for my VTT crowd, I created a .png file of the archway so you can use a module such as Levels to place tokens "under" the arch.

Click on the download link below corresponding to your tier to download all the map files.

I hope you've been enjoying one of the more expansive areas of CoS: Reloaded / Arc R with many new locations and dangers for your party to encounter. I'm currently working with Dragna and his awesome team to determine the next map in the series, so I'll let you all know once that is determined! Of course, my v2.0 reworks for some of the Tsolenka Pass locations from the core module are also in the plans (such as the Bridge, Gatehouse, etc).
For my Saltmarsh fans, next week I'll have the next building installment from the town of Saltmarsh! This will be my 20th location from the locations listed in the book, with only 10 more to go before I've covered a fully detailed map for every single Saltmarsh building! Of course, I'll be creating my own versions of the adventure maps as well (like I did for Sinister Secrets).
And in Sep, I am planning on releasing my v2.0 rework of the Watcherhaus, which I'm super excited to tackle once more.
Thank you all for being so supportive of my work, I owe my livelihood to you all and I will be forever grateful.
Cheers friends,
DM Andy
