Pirate Map Collab: Six Free Pirate-Themed Maps from Amazing Creators!

Hey everyone! I have a very special treat for you all today. Six free pirate-themed battlemaps, including the Sea Ghost that I just released, as well as five other maps from extremely talented map makers in the community!

This release will have the links for the free posts for each of the incredible maps to download below!

Additionally, Angela Maps has taken the time to put together all six maps into a single free Foundry module, which you can manually install via the manifest URL (see attached PDF).

Hidden from the sights of the Navy, a small flooded cave hosts a rugged band of treacherous pirates and their vessels. For months now they’ve been avoiding capture, raiding unprotected fleets (or even well defended ones, should they feel bold). Your task was to infiltrate them, meet their captain, and cut the serpent’s head. Will you succeed?

Do what you want ‘cos a pirate is free: are you a pirate? If so, this cave in a cove will make the perfect place to hide your ship and your booty from the no-good, ill-intentioned folks that want to take back what you rightfully plundered. With indoor waterfalls contributing valuable fresh water and sound insulation, and enough space for a few makeshift docks and platforms, a salty dog could easily live out the rest of their days in seclusion here, as long as they didn’t mind the humidity. Fully animated and available in three variants, with a few more ships or none at all, this cavernous map will have your players turn into One-Eyed Willy and his crew in no time, unless they’re after the treasure themselves!

Swimming through the cresting waves of the open sea, like a shadow-splintered wreckage and while salt-laced winds scream across shattered masts, looms the Giant Crabkin, an impossibly massive crustacean that has made its slow, barnacled journey through the ages. This ancient creature is stuff of legend, although most people reduce it to the rambling of drunken sailors and crazed pirate-lords.
The Giant Crabkin’s massive shell is a ship graveyard frozen in time. Its chitinous back is cracked and pitted, layered with centuries of decay and detritus. Ship remnants jut out like broken bones—half-masts, shattered hulls, tangled nets, and bones bleached by sun and salt. Its claws, larger than towers, rest submerged beneath brackish water, still twitching in occasional spasms. Colossal and mysterious, few have seen it, and fewer have lived to tell the tale. And yet fewer know what it is or how it came to be.

Inspired by the classic adventure Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh, this map brings to life the infamous smuggling vessel: The Sea Ghost. After your party uncovers the truth behind the abandoned house and clears out the smugglers’ lair, they discover the signal system used to summon their ship—the final piece of the smuggling operation. Will your players use cunning and disguise to board undetected? Or will they launch a daring assault under cover of night? Will The Sea Ghost end as a burning wreck adrift on the Emerald Sea—or become the party’s newest prize, commandeered for their own high-seas exploits?
