Sneak Peek - The Sea Ghost (Sinister Secrets of Saltmarsh Part II)

Hey everyone, and happy Sneak Peek Thursday! Today, I'm excited to share a snippet of my next map, The Sea Ghost.

The Sea Ghost is from Part II of the "Sinister Secrets of Saltmarsh" map and will feature a full ship map, including each ship level. For my VTT supporters, I will also be including the transparent files of each ship level, including the rigging on top, so you can move tokens under the mast/ropes.

What's even more exciting is that next week, not only will I be releasing this map, but I will also be sharing free nautical / pirate-themed maps from some very talented map makers I have the honor of considering my friends! We have all decided to collaborate on this theme and will be sharing each other's works on our various Patreon pages so you can see the immense talent of these incredible artists.

I'll have the full map ready to go on Monday and expect to see the free collaborator maps released to everyone by Tuesday!

Cheers all and safe seas,

DM Andy

These posts make me so nostalgic for my Ghosts of Saltmarsh campaign, awesome work!

How exciting!! I'd love to know what you think once it's released. The short answer to your question is: No, I don't have an "Empty" version of the ship... at least not yet. When I was making this I fully assumed a lot of players would want to capture the vessel and use it as a type of floating Bastion. The main issue was the files I have prepared were massive, in that I have 120 different map files with this release (not including the transparent files). The "floors" include: The Bilge, Hold, Upper Deck (interior) Uppder Deck (Exterior), Crows Nest View, and Full Mast with Rigging (as shown in the screenshot here). So that would have doubled if I also did empty versions of the map (plus I would need to rework all of my shading / highlighting after removing all the objects). With that said, I fully intend to go back and update the ship and create an "Empty" version just like I did with the Haunted House from Part I, and I'll also provide transparent floor files for the empty version as well. As soon as I have some time in my launch schedule, I'll get that going so we can get lots of use out of this map!

Amazing! My players are about to get the Sea Ghost and my plan is for them to be able to convert it into their own ship so they can be colloquially known as "The Ghosts" of Saltmarsh. Will the transparent version include cleaned out decks at all so we could use it as a converted player vessel? Particularly in the bilge? Excited to see the ship regardless!
