Hey everyone, and happy New Release Monday! Today, I am releasing the next map in the Lothburgh series: The Streets of New Ashes.
This map is gridded on a 30x40 grid and depicts the impoverished borough of New Ashes from the new upcoming campaign setting "Lothburgh" that Lunch Break Heroes has been working on. If you are new to this series, you can follow LBH over on Patreon to get regular updates on this incredible setting! I am currently playing in a Lothburgh campaign as a player, and I've had a great time playing my battlefield surgeon (rogue) subclass. Inspired by Victorian, Gothic, and Industrial settings, Lothburgh combines dark themes with a cityscape of factories producing a wide range of commodities, including clockwork constables. At the same time, their large smokestacks billow smog into the sky. For me, I'm getting "Carnival Row" vibes (the TV series) or even games like "Thief" or "Dishonored".

The borough of New Ashes is the most impoverished, yet it supplies the majority of the workforce that keeps the city running. Built into an old quarry, you're going to find rowhouses nestled against the rocky walls of the quarry.

This map features plenty of verticality, allowing for encounters to be run on both rooftops and streets. To the north, a large freight elevator provides access to the higher tiers of the quarry.

There are some vendors set up, along with a few areas where workers can congregate to cook whatever foods they can get their hands on. I also added a hidden entrance to one of the various tunnels and sewer systems that run throughout the city (maps for these sewer systems will be available in the future).

I added a flat roof section as well as scaffolding to scale up the various quarry cliffs around the area, which I hope will provide plenty of verticality for combat encounters and/or challenges.

This is a great space to run both social and combat encounters or to use as a slums district for your own campaigns!
