Hello everyone, and happy New Release Monday!
Today, I’m excited to share something a little different from my usual battlemaps — a parchment-style map of the Village of Barovia!
I've been toying with this idea ever since I created my world map of Barovia in a similar parchment style. But for this closer look at the village, I knew I wanted something more detailed than the simple icons used in the world map. I’ve always loved the intricacy of the book’s village map, and I wanted to honor that level of detail.
Instead of a flat or abstract layout, I chose an isometric approach — something that captures the feeling of a cartographer perched on a hilltop, sketching the village from a high vantage point. It brings out the structure and shape of Barovia in a way that feels both practical and atmospheric.
This map is designed to work as a player handout — something you can drop into your game to help guide your party through the mist-shrouded streets of Barovia.
I hope you enjoy this take on the Village of Barovia! I’m planning to continue this style with parchment maps of Krezk and Vallaki, and I may even revisit my Saltmarsh parchment map to bring it in line with this new look.
I hope you enjoy it!
I created two color variants — a light and dark version — so you can choose the one that best fits your game’s atmosphere.
Additionally, I’ve included versions without map icons, such as the compass rose, nameplate, and distance marker. This gives you even more flexibility depending on how you’d like to present the map to your players.
With this release, my Hearth patrons will receive the following:
Light & Dark Styles
With and Without Map Icons
4k Resolution
Grid & NoGrid
Jpgs & Webp File Types
Thank you ALL for your continued support of my work; without you, I would not be able to make this happen!
Cheers,
DM Andy
