March 2025 Updates
Added 2025-03-03 19:04:08 +0000 UTC
Hey everyone! This is a five Monday month and as such, I'm taking this week off from releasing a new map so I figured I'd write some page updates and things to look forward to in the coming months so here we go.
Foundry VTT
Soon, I'll be sharing with all Champion Tier members the first test Foundry VTT module. I will have three folders for you to drop in your Foundry modules folder (and I'll list the other dependencies as well) so you can all play around with it and try out the new UI. I'll be asking for any feedback or tweaks that I can manage on my end, however, note for now I'm keeping things light and simple just to get this plane off the ground. I do have plans to do future bigger updates like including an optional Levels Modules, adding music / sfx, and even animating maps, however for now I want to keep it nice and simple with walls, lights, an easy to use UI, and MATT for interior/exterior/level teleportation.
Additionally, I'm working on getting signed up with the Foundry Premium Content system so make it simple and easy to install most of my maps. Contracts have been signed, we just need to sync the tiers that will be available so you won't have to do much manual installing. The only exception to this would be any map that is covered under the Fan Creation Policy from WotC, so any derivative works that are recreations from modules. Those ones will have to be a manual install since Foundry won't let me add those to the premium content system.
I did a little video to showcase the VTT build which you can find here.
Billing Updates
Sorry if you're sick of hearing about this by now but just making sure as many folk see this as possible. Today is the day I am scheduled to switch over to Patreon Monthly Billing instead of "Per Creation" which I'm currently on. This is due to Patreon sunsetting the "Per Creation" model this year and if I want to create new tiers (Such as my VTT Tier) I had to make the switch.
In short, if you're already a Champion tier member you don't need to do anything! Even though the Champion Tier will be listed at $12.00 / month (This is based on 4 maps per week at $3.00 per map which was my old model) I will still be respecting any per creation limits you might have set. So if you've set your per creation limit to 2, you'll be billed $6.00 monthly so long as you're in the Champion Tier.
However, this tier will be sunset as I create the new monthly tiers, so once you leave it, you would be unable to rejoin it. However, you can stay in that tier as long as you want and you'll get everything I have to offer, including all of the Foundry VTT, Printable PDFs, and eventually transparent .png files of roofs and levels. This is my way of saying THANK YOU for all of your continued support over the years and helping me make my dreams of making maps come true!
You can find more information about this switch here.
Printable PDFs
Along with my launches, I will start including printable PDFs for my larger tiers (including the Champion tier)! I'm not a print expert and this will be new ground for me to cover, so forgive any kinks in the process, but in short I'll be adding my highest resolution maps at 300DPI as a PDF, which will already be divided by 8.5x11 (Standard US Paper) sized pages. You should be able to simply print them out and tape them together! For now, I'm just doing the base versions of the maps without weather on them as the files are pretty huge, but if there is anything specific you need for your game, just let me know and I'll be happy to provide.
New Settings Maps with Lunch Break Heroes
As some of you might remember, I've created a large number of maps to support the LBH Kickstarter Librus Nocturnum, which is an anthology of Dark Fantasy adventures (If you've not seen it, you can check it out here).
Well, I am partnering with LBH once more to work on maps for their newest setting in the works; Lothburgh. Next week will be my first map release for it and I'll share a sneak peek this Thursday, but for now, I'll leave you with the new banner I made for these map releases as a teaser :)
Legends of Saltmarsh
My friend Pyram King is back and has immediately begun to delve into his Legends of Saltmarsh content featuring my Saltmarsh maps! He's already put together some incredible videos to flush out the various locations of the town and he's been hard at work creating fun, immersive encounters, NPC, and lore for each location. My Saltmarsh project will continue to sail the Azure Sea and my next map in the series will be a big one: Primewater Manor. Most of you know by now that the manor maps can ben quite large projects but I think most would agree they are worth it! This will be the 18th location I've created a full map for in Saltmarsh and I plan to hit all 30 locations in the book as well as the written adventures (I've already covered the Haunted House from the "Sinister Secrets" adventure). I hope you'll join us in making this setting an incredible coastal adventure for you and your party!
Here is the latest vid he did featuring the Barracks & Jail map.
CoS & Dragna's Reloaded Guide
Of course, I'll continue working on my CoS V2.0 maps and flush out the various new locations called out in Dragan's Reloaded Guide! For Vallaki, I'll continue working through the key locations and adding new content (such as a large city streets map, alleyways, an updated slums map, etc.). Next on my list for Reloaded will be the Ice Cave following the Bodak Lair, so you can look forward to that soon.
For my V2.0 maps I am (slowly but surely) working my way through all my old content and have plans to fully revamp Vallaki, Krezk, Van Richten's Tower, Berez, The Winery, and include new areas around Yester Hill.
I've probably rambled on enough for one day but either way, I just want you ALL to know how much I appreciate you all. Whether you engage with my posts, use my maps, recommend me to fellow DMs, or support me here and/or on Ko-fi, THANK YOU. Fantasy RPGs have been a constant in my life since my childhood, and being able to create maps for your games is a life-long dream I never thought possible. The last five years I've been creating maps have flown by and I'm constantly amazed at your outpour of kindness, support, and enthusiasm for my creations. From the bottom of my heart and on behalf of my wife and our cat Meowzers, THANK YOU. We could not have done this without you all.
Cheers,
DM Andy

Indeed the most close format would be A4. Omg thanks man, that would be amazing! Looking forward to it :D

2025-03-20 18:13:20 +0000 UTCYes, please do test it out! I do include a white border along the edges so it prints nicely using a standard US letter format (8.5x11) but I think the EU standard is A4 if I'm not mistaken (Which is about 8.27x11.69 inches so not that far off). I think as long as the squares are close to a 1 inch square it should be good since most mini bases are around that size. I had a buddy in the UK test it out for me and it seemed to work but always looking for feedback. I should have some time today so I'll try to get Death House / the Gates of Barovia sorted with Printable PDFs, then start working on the Village of Barovia.

2025-03-20 17:59:22 +0000 UTCMusic to my ears, thanks for the reply! I still need to print out and test one of the recent ones. I'm in Europe, so I'll need to see how it comes out in the end! Thanks in advance Andy, your maps are truly something else!

2025-03-20 17:51:52 +0000 UTCYes! Hopefully, things will slow down a bit on my end, but as time permits, I plan to go back and update my older map releases with printable PDFs as well. I'd also love to hear some feedback on them as I'm setting up the PDFs to be based on a one-inch square, so the maps will print pretty large. For instance, a typical map of mine is 30x40 so it would be at least a 30" by 40" area on the game table. I have each page set up to print on a standard US letter format as well so it will print out 8.5x11 sheets and you can tape them together as needed.

2025-03-19 23:38:09 +0000 UTCQuestion on the printable PDFs ; will you retroactively go back to already released maps for CoS and create these PDFs as well? I am starting a new live CoS campaign soon and this would be extremely amazing :D

2025-03-19 20:00:42 +0000 UTCHey there David and welcome! Also a big THANK YOU for your support as well. I'm also a total Foundry newbie but I'm thankful for my fellow map makers and the very talented developer (Talanor) I've been working with to get these modules complete. The short answer is; Yes! You won't need to manually download anything form my Patreon as the maps will be installed directly to your Foundry folder. In fact, in the next day or so I am hoping to have a test link ready to install so everyone can test it out and I can get feedback. Soon, having Foundry modules for each map will be a standard! I will have two delivery methods depending on the map. If the map is an IP controlled map (for example, sometimes I will re-make maps from published adventures like Castle Ravenloft from Curse of Strahd or Sinister Secrets from the Saltmarsh book) I won't be able to distribute them directly through Foundry due to the licensing agreement but I WILL have a URL that you can just install (Don't worry, I will include instructions for us newbies). It's still pretty quick and easy. The 2nd method will be via Foundry's Premium Content Delivery. I'm still in the process of getting this set up, but once it's live all of my non-IP controlled maps (In other words, maps solely of my creation and not re-works of existing maps from published material) will be available via Foundry directly. You just have to link your Foundry account with my Patreon page and boom, you'll be able to find any map I make and install it directly :) I feel like that was a word dump and for that I'm sorry, but I hope it was helpful at least! Cheers friend

2025-03-13 01:00:32 +0000 UTCHello! Iโm new to Foundry and for that matter new to your patreon and maps! Loving all of the above! Just for my understanding, does your work towards creating Foundry modules mean no need to download individual maps from Patreon, but instead install your mod on Foundry and the maps will be there?

2025-03-13 00:09:07 +0000 UTCI'm so happy to hear your campaign is well underway! I've not done the two VoB maps from Reloaded as Winter's Grasp next, but I"ll add them as the next ones on the list so I can round out all of the VoB maps.

2025-03-04 21:37:49 +0000 UTCMy players have just escaped Death House and find themselves on the Old Svalich Road, headed to the gates of Barovia and then the village. I am using the Winter's Grasp maps but I recently realized the barricade version you made doesn't have a Winter's Grasp version - or did I miss it?

2025-03-04 01:12:40 +0000 UTCI'm so hopeful the Foundry Modules will prove useful to you and I really hope you like the UI that was designed by Talanor. It makes switching between color moods, and my static weather, and other variants super easy. I should have the test module out soon and I look forward to your feedback! Thank you so much for your kind words :)

2025-03-03 23:10:18 +0000 UTCI said it last time, I'll say it again... I'm SO excited! I've been using Pyram King's modules with your older CoS maps for the walls and warps, even though I'm not running his story, but your newer CoS maps have had me drooling (and lamenting the time it takes to wall and warp etc.). I cannot wait to show my players the new versions. Thanks again for all the work you do, Andy!
