Hey everyone, and happy New Release Monday! Today, I am releasing the next map in my Saltmarsh series: The Fishmongers Plant, or what I'm calling "The Briny Barrel Fishery."
This is the 17th location I've mapped out for the town of Saltmarsh, and I'm pleased to say I'm more than halfway done! Creating the entire town with such large-scale buildings has been quite the workload, but seeing the town come to life with each new map has been a lot of fun!
This map features the fishery set onto the docks directly so they can receive fresh fish directly from the fishing fleets. The docks are laid out to receive all manner of vessels, and two large bay doors open up directly into the docks to allow smaller fishing boats to unload their cargo directly into the fishery.
There is plenty of room in the front for wagons and carts to purchase shipments of fresh and brined fish to sell at the weekly market. Additionally, there is a small fishing dock off the main road, which just so happens to end near the area where the fish guts are tossed back into the ocean to feed the sea life. This harbor section allows local fishermen to catch sea life that might feed on the constant chum hitting the waters.
Inside, you'll find cargo storage, fish sorting planks, a gutting room, and a salting room. You can also access the ramps that lead to the ocean and bay doors that allow smaller fishing vessels to enter the fishery.
Lastly, the stairs lead to the main office, which is located at the top of the tower. The height advantage and large circular windows on all sides allow for a clear view of the entire harbor. The fishmonger in charge can see incoming vessels, monitor operations, and arrange shipments and sales both to and from the fishery.

That's a wrap for Jan! As I transition into Feb, I'll continue my work on the Winter's Grasp set of maps (Next up will be the Tser Falls and Top of the Falls maps to get the Wintery treatment), and I'll be working on my next map for the Dragna Reloaded series which will feature the Bodak cave up in Tsolenka Pass.
As always, I cannot thank you enough for your continued support! It allows me to do what I do and gives me the bandwidth to pay human artists for beautifully hand-drawn assets! I've also not forgotten about the VTT / Foundry initiative. I'll be working with a developer to build some great Foundry modules, which I hope to launch in a few months. Fingers crossed!
I'll catch up with you all on my Monthly Recap post in a few days.
Cheers,
DM Andy
