Champion Tier - CoS Reloaded: Town Square | 30x20

Hello everyone, and happy New Release Monday! Today, I am releasing my Town Square map to support the second half of the Siege of the Village of Barovia encounter from the DragnaCarta CoS: Reloaded guide (Which you can find for free here).

In case you missed part one (The Eastern Barricades), you can grab that map here.

In this encounter, Ismark stands alone to face the remains of the undead who have broken through the barricades. It's up to your adventuring party to help make a final stand in the town square against the zombies before they release their horrid plague in the center of town.

This map features the main road cutting through the center of town, showing off the statue of Ismark's grandfather, who stood as a beacon of hope against the undead decades ago.

I made this map in two core versions; one with the broken barricades and one without so you can use this as a generic town square map for any other types of encounters you might have planned.

For my Champion Tier patrons, you get the following with this release:

I'm looking forward to creating more maps to support the Reloaded supplement that Dragna created! Up next, I'll be continuing my journey in covering Barovia with snow with Project: Winter's Grasp. You will see both the Gallows Crossroads and Tser Vistani Camp covered in a fresh blanket of frost.

As always, thank you SO much for your continued support of my craft! I hope you have been enjoying the recent maps, and I look forward to continuing my current project.

Cheers,

DM Andy

Thanks so much! As always I had to have this gorgeous map sized right xD

Caleb

That's because I'm a nerd and forgot to include it! :P I've attached it to the post now so should be all set.

Andy D'Amato

I can't seem to find the sizing guide that's normally included in the file ;s

Caleb

Wow Andy, thank you so much for the insight! That would be incredible indeed. Great to hear it's possible, although I understand that it's a massive load of work 🥵 Anyways, thanks again and all the best for 2025 to you too!

It's a great suggestion for sure! I think, if I optimize the file size enough it might be okay with VTT if I do a full scale map. The biggest challenge I have with it is the time for such a project as well as working in that scale. Each of the buildings you see here were crafted by hand using various texture, pathing and shape tools as well as my asset library. I rough sketch each building first and then work with that skeletal model on the perspective. A map of this size (30x20) allows me to scale up the buildings in such a way that I can get really detailed on each one, but a large scale maps the finer details begin to fade away. For instance, if I did a full sized Krezk map, it would be something like 150x150 grid which is a pretty massive map for fine house details. However, that's not to say it's impossible, but it will take a different approach then I'm used to working in. What I might do instead is pre-create the buildings one at a time in a larger scale, export them, cut them out and use them as their own assets. Then I can scale them down to a smaller size which would allow me to work on larger scale maps without a massive performance tank. I will keep thinking about it and see how best I can make this happen because I, too, would love a full-sized city map in a forced perspective. Cheers and Happy New Year!

Whole maps of the villages of Barovia, Krezk and Vallaki in this style would be absolutely mindblowing. Do you think that might be possible to realize and on the table in the near future? Or would those kinda maps be too big to handle by a vtt? Thank you for your beautiful work. Definitely my favourite CoS maps so far!

Ivan Maras

Yep', that's my first run I'm so excited !! I have prepared until leaving the village of Barovia for the moment. I can't wait to see your next map v2 :D But don't put pressure

Elise De Oliveira

Ohhh nice!! I'm so excited for you! Is this your first run through of CoS? You should be pretty covered on maps for at least the first 1/4 of the campaign as I'm just now starting on re-working Vallaki. Hopefully I'll have it mostly (re) done by the time you get there.

Andy D'Amato

I'm so glad you like it! That's also why I made a version without barricades as well so you can use it in a more flexible way.

Andy D'Amato

I'm never disappointed, it's an incredible work ! I'm going to start my game on CoS soon, I'm such a fan of your work that almost all the maps are yours ! ♪ Just, Thanks !

Elise De Oliveira

I can’t wait for my PCs to walk around in this visually amazing Barovia you have created

Michael Rozmin

will do! i've been using your maps since death house and my players love it!!! i buffed up the fights significantly and they were going crazy planning out the barricade lmao

Rachel Choi

Oh nice!! I'd love to hear how it goes. So happy I was able to get the map out on time for your session :)

Andy D'Amato

just in time!! im running the second half of the barricade tomorrow thank you sm 🗣🗣
