Hey everyone, and happy New Release Monday! I am continuing down the frosty path of Project "Winter's Grasp," and this time, I've re-done three of the key Village of Barovia locations.
Whether you are creating a new, snowy landscape of this dark misty land or playing in a snow-based campaign, this will give you three versatile buildings to use which cover a home, a tavern, and a shop!
Each map has been re-textured with thousands of asset edits to convert the existing map into a cold, snowy landscape. I manually edit every aspect of the map to match the new terrain and go give you a sense of a cold, frigid winter.
This release comes with the following snowy maps:
Bildrath's Mercantile
Blood on the Vine Tavern
Mad Mary's Townhome
Each of these maps comes with various weather effects and three core color variants:
Gloom
Chilly Day
Night
Like the other posts, I've split each map post into it's own so make it a little easier to manage as well as attach the .zip files to them. You can download each of these maps via the links below:
It's been a busy building month with the Burgomaster's Manor and three new snowy building maps. So next up, I'll be working on an outdoor docks map to support more general encounters in or around Saltmarsh (or any other area you plan on adding some docks to your games). Docks are always a fun, versatile map that is prime encounter territory from smugglers to sea creatures; there is never a gap in ideas you can run on a docks map.
After this, I'll be working on the re-work of the much anticipated Old Bonegrinder, where I've custom-commissioned new assets specifically for that location! Hoping to start off next month on a spooky theme, this iconic location is perfect for any horror setting you are planning in your games. I'm also excited to be working on my special Halloween-themed map, which I hope will be a fun location to add to any dungeon map! I'll give more details about this one in October.
Like many others, I'm very much looking forward to October which is one of my favorite months! Even though we don't get that iconic "Fall" look and feel here in Southern California, I still love the Fall season, especially bundling up near my computer with a piping hot cup of coffee and making maps! (Okay, that's because we still run the AC at full blast instead of it being cold outside but still!)
I hope you've enjoyed these snowy re-works and I'm looking forward to completing Winter's Grasp in order for to play CoS in a whole new way!
Cheers,
DM Andy
