Sneak Peek Trailer | Winter's Grasp: Barovia Reimagined

Hello everyone, and happy Sneak Peek Thursday! I am SUPER excited to bring you this next map teaser trailer for my newest project: "Winter's Grasp: Barovia Reiminaged."
Once per month, I will be going back and updating my previous CoS / Dark Fantasy maps and creating a full set of snowy versions for each of them. This means a snowy Village of Barovia, snowy Argnvostholt, snowy Bonegrinder, and even a frost-covered castle, Ravenloft!
Even though these are existing maps, I'll give each location a frosty overhaul and create versions with fog and windy snow weather effects.
Additionally, each set of maps will contain three colors and moods:
Chilly Day
Night
Gloom
Though they take less time to create as I'm not building them from scratch, I am retexturing each map, adding all of the snow and frost elements, and applying my color work in Photoshop. I will also make each map a little softer in feel to give it a snow-covered vibe.
I've received many requests for certain maps to have snowy versions, which got me thinking, "What if all of Barovia was covered in snow?". I could not imagine a harsher climate to fight vampires and other undead beasts in!
For the first set of maps released on Monday, I will be releasing the following:
Gates of Barovia
Death House
Old Road Encounters
I hope you enjoy this trailer and these new dedicated snowy maps, and I hope this gives you a new, unique way challenge to introduce to your players!
Cheers,
DM Andy

So happy to hear this!! The thought of a snow-covered Barovia has made me want to make these changes in my own game as well. Dark mist covered Barovia is one thing... adding freezing snow adds a whole new element of horror!

2024-06-07 17:56:07 +0000 UTCOh no way!! That's so perfect!! Eventually I'll have snowy maps for everything so you'll be able to run a full CoS run in the snow. I just love the brutality of winter and the contrast between the white snow and drips of steamy blood from the black wolf staring at the party.

2024-06-06 18:28:27 +0000 UTCOh this is exciting! I used your CoS maps almost exclusively during my campaign, and plan to have my players new character revisit Barovia 20 years after that event. Would be a cool way to show off the same areas with a different feel

2024-06-06 18:06:40 +0000 UTCWhoa!! I love that idea—how thematic!! Eventually, I'll have everything covered in snow, including all my Village of Barovia maps and the new Vallaki maps, once I start updating those. Imagine a frozen Bonegrinder with icicles handing off the tattered sails of the windmill.

2024-06-06 17:28:17 +0000 UTCAwesome!! Are you doing a snowy CoS campaign? Or something else?

2024-06-06 17:26:47 +0000 UTCI’m excited to see them. I’ve been having it snow wherever viktor goes in my game (he’s taken a deal with a certain vestige) and this helps perfectly with that. Keep up the amazing work
