Sneak Peek - The Empty Net Tavern

Hey everyone, and Happy Sneak Peek Thursday! First brand new map of the year as we feel the warm sun and cool ocean spray hitting our faces while our noses are accounted by a horrid smell coming from the rickety tavern sitting in the harbor. Only the rough and tumble frequent the Empty Net, but if you're in the smuggling business and need something sold or procured outside the law, there is no better place to go.

This map will feature the Empty Net Tavern, sitting on a pier that juts out into the ocean. This map will be a 40x30 map with two levels of the tavern to explore. The 1st level will be the main drinking hall (better eat beforehand as no food is served here!), and the 2nd floor will feature a cargo hold, a bedroom for the owner, a secret room for illegal contraband, and even a plank hovering over the ocean where ne'er-do-wells are tossed into the stinking harbor.

In the screenshot above, I even built my own fun little asset and easter egg for anyone who is a fan of the show Our Flag Means Death (and my favorite character Spanish Jackie). You might find a jar of murky liquid at the end of the bar filled with something... grotesque!

Will have the full release ready by Monday!

Cheers,

DM Andy

I appreciate that! It's a really fun campaign and I've always thought the town of Saltmarsh itself has enough to be its own sandbox. My goal is to map out every single location for Saltmarsh so the Council Hall, Mariner's Guild, etc will all have maps eventually. The Empty Net should be up in just a little bit and I had a ton of fun mapping this one out.

I hope you'll enjoy the post! Working on it now and should be up in just a little bit

I love that you're doing Ghosts of Saltmarsh. That was my first campaign after getting back into D&D and starting 5th Edition, so it holds a special place in my heart. When I ran it, I had to make lots of my own maps for places like the council halls, and the mariner's guild, etc. It's nice to see alternative maps and see them in your unique style.

My current campaign is about to enter its final phase - which is pirate heavy. I am gonna use this as one of my of the bases of operation for my PCs. Thanks Andy! You rock!
