Champion Tier - Saltmarsh - Rough Waters & Skull Island - 100x100

Ahoy all, and happy New Release Monday! For today's release, I have two different maps I'm releasing for the Saltmarsh series I've been working on. I wanted to take a quick break from the (many) buildings of Saltmarsh and do something a bit more nautical, so today I bring you two different ocean maps for you to run various sea encounters on. 

The first map is Rough Waters which is a 100x100 map that features massive sea swells and is great for any storm encounters you might have planned.

The second map is Skull Island which is a 100x100 map that features a series of large rock formations jutting out of the shallow water along with the central formation nicknamed "skull island" for obvious reasons. This is a great map to add some ship-to-ship combat or hide some lost treasure for those brave enough to navigate the shallows. 

For these maps, it was important for me to avoid using any features that might not scale well if you decide to make the grid of the map bigger or smaller. Though I gridded this map at 100x100 to create a big enough play area for multiple ships, you can always adjust the size up or down, and the map should still make sense. For instance, if you decide you'd rather use a 50x50 map, everything would still make sense, just on a smaller scale. Alternatively, if you wanted the features to be massive, you could make this a 200x200 map, for example, and scale everything up. Just don't forget to adjust the PPI if you are using Foundry and decide to use a different grid size! 

Also, if anyone would like me to add a different grid size to these maps, I'm happy to do so; just let me know which ones you'd like and what grid size. 

Variants

There are two maps total, and each one comes with various color moods:

Rough Waters comes with a total of 4 different color moods, and each one contains a fog and rain variant. The color moods are:

• Black Abyss
• Dark Waters
• Ghostly
• Gloom

Skull Island has a total of 7 different color moods, and some contain various weather options such as fog, rain, and sun glare. The color moods are:

• Crystal
• Early Light
• Emerald
• Ghostly
• Gloom
• Night
• Warm

I'm excited to announce I'll be working on the final dungeon of the Temple of the Lost Fane encounter myself and Pyram have been working on. This is the third part in a three-part dungeon series of maps that will feature your party infiltrating Castle Ravenloft through the very pillar stone it was built upon. I'm excited to include this final map and even more excited to see the amazing content Pyram will be creating for it! 

As I head into September, my wife and I will be taking a week off for a much-needed holiday! Me working two full-time jobs (working toward making map making my only full-time job!), and her working on her Masters's degree has us feeling a bit ragged, and we are looking forward to unwinding and relaxing for a bit. With that said, I'll be working on a few generic encounter maps that you should be able to drop into various locations around CoS or any of your Dark Fantasy campaigns. The first of which will be a very simple, rustic church in a snowy town (perfect to add to Krezk) which the church heavily inspired in Diablo IV! The second will be a wetlands/tar pits map inspired by the La Brea tar pits that I live next to here in Los Angeles. 

Lastly, many of you have been asking about the Pyram King version of the Death House basement, and I will be working on this map in September to finish it up in time before Halloween. Death House and the Count's Manor are fantastic one-shots to run for a spooky Halloween session! I'm excited to continue my work both on Saltmarsh and CoS, as well as create new and exciting maps for you to drop into any campaign setting you might be running.
