Hey everyone, and happy Sneak Peek Thursday! For today, I'm showing just a bit of the central chamber in the next map in the Temple of the Lost Fane series for the new encounter Pyram King, and I are working on.
If you are unfamiliar with this project, Pyram King and I are working on a new dungeon for Curse of Strahd for players to find an alternate route to Castle Ravenloft. There is a long-forgotten temple built directly inside the pillar stone the castle is built on top of. The Dusk Elves built this temple to worship the Night Fane, a long-forgotten fourth fane we added.
You can find the video for the first map that Pyram did here!
For the next map in the series, I wanted to emphasize the height at which the party is climbing within the pillar stone. It starts with switch-back tunnels of stairs ascending hundreds of feet! There will be a few winding paths, a cave in's, and missing floors with dark chasms below. The stairs will eventually lead to a long, ancient hallway that leads to this central chamber. A massive, dark, seemingly bottomless chasm surrounds the central platform along with an equally deep central hole. There are a few bridges that connect an outer ring of rooms, all of which have fallen into ruin and disarray from centuries of abandonment.
We are working on adding all sorts of fun encounters along with a unique way to ascend to the upper and final level of the temple.
I'll have the full map ready to go by Monday, and Pyram will be working on adding his video and PDF guide of this 2nd addition. We are both very excited to share this with you!
Cheers,
DM Andy
