Update April 4th, 2023: Hey, everyone! Just like I did for the map of Barovia, I just uploaded a new .zip file called "Location Tokens" which contains tokens for each location (With and without token borders). This allows you to hide/reveal the locations as your players find them on your VTT. Enjoy!
Update March 13th, 2023: Fixed a few typos in the text variants! So sorry about that!
Original Post:
Ahoy! And happy Release Monday! It's finally here, the first release of the next module I'll be mapping for; Ghosts of Saltmarsh!
While I primarily make battlemaps, I figured a good starting point would be to first make a parchment map of Saltmarsh. What is a seafaring adventure without a parchment map, right?
I will start by creating maps for all 30 Saltmarsh locations! A tall order, I know, but those who know me know that I'm not shy of jumping into the abyss for a serious challenge.
You'll also find a new section in my map hub; The Briny Abyss. This is where I will add all my non-official map creations, such as The City Gate and the Barracks & Jail. Any map I recreate from the book will be under the Ghosts of Saltmarsh category.
I hope you'll set sail with me on this new journey! And for those of you here for Dark Fantasy, fear not! There will be plenty more Dark Fantasy, and CoS maps ahead.

I made this map on a 40x30 hex grid, and the distance marker I added is 1 hex = 100 feet. It's not exactly like the book, but it is pretty close to the scale of the town. I wanted to keep the hex distance clean and not have you add fractions of distance as your players moved from hex to hex.
The biggest change here, as I'm sure you've noticed, is the orientation of the map. In the book, the map is featured as a portrait orientation, but you'll notice the northern direction on the compass rose is facing toward the left-hand side of the book (which drives me crazy). I prefer maps where north is always on top, so I changed this to a landscape-style map.
Additionally, I created versions with and without the map folds and with and without the text so you can share with your players and/or add your own names/locations.
For this map release, you'll get the following:

Going forward, I will try to strike a balance between Saltmarsh-style maps and Dark Fantasy maps. Additionally, for all my Saltmarsh maps, I will be creating a gloomy version so you can easily use them in any Dark Fantasy game you might be running.
Next up, I will be working on my re-work of the Amber Temple from Curse of Strahd. First, I plan on creating a lower level "lived-in" version to match the version I did for the Interactive Tome of Strahd (By popular request!) then I'll start on my re-work of the Amber Temple V 2.0 from the module.
Additionally, the next adventure from Lunch Break Heroes is already being worked on and will be a nightmare for your players! Stay tuned for these maps and the PDF adventure toward the end of the month.
Thanks as always for your continued support, and I'll catch up with you Thursday for my next Sneak Peek.
Cheers,
DM Andy
