
Hey everyone, and Happy Release Monday! Today I'm bringing you a series of maps I'll create to support the Lunch Break Hereos adventure; The Hunger. This time, I am bringing you the town of Dawnvale!
You might have noticed this map is exterior only, and I plan to release the interior version separately. I usually release interior and exterior versions together; however, this map has been a heavy lift (going on three weeks of work now). You might have noticed a few new techniques I've been employing for my latest maps, and while I love the results, they are pretty time-consuming. However, over here at DM Andy Maps, my key focus has been (and always will be) quality over quantity, and I will always instead take a bit more time to deliver a solid product for my patrons. Some of the newer techniques I've been adding to my maps are:
So there you have it! The interior version, once released, will be pretty detailed and will include a number of the buildings shown here, including the barracks (2nd floor and jail in the basement), smithy, butcher shop (including 2nd floor and basement), general store, alchemist, abandoned building (including a cellar and a tunnel leading toward the mine), and the tavern (including the 2nd floor).
Lastly, once these maps are finished, I'll be including the written adventure, The Hunger, so you can use the maps to run it (or use them in your own campaigns).

As mentioned above, I've been creating additional mood scapes to add variety and to help give you the perfect mood to set the scene in. For this release, there are two additional moods along with the other variants.
Gloom: I've added more grey and darkened the shadows to add to the Dark Fantasy feel. I wanted this mood to feel dark, moody, and ominous.
Warm: This warms up the scene and almost gives it a scene of early morning. As the town begins to come alive, your players may enjoy a more serene setting (before delving into the spider-infested mines!)

I'll be working on finishing the interior of Dawnvale and creating the spider-infested mine to support the LBH adventure, The Hunger. As we head into March, I plan on creating an updated version of the Amber Temple, including a "rebuilt" version of the 2nd floor (by popular request!). Additionally, I plan on making some tweaks to my Ravenloft maps, including creating a "clean" chapel and throne room area and adding some of the changes by Lunch Break Heroes and a Vistani camp on the exterior of the castle. I still have the Burgomaster's Manor and Garden to create for the Interactive Tome of Strahd, and of course, I'll be starting my first set of Ghost of Saltmarsh maps, starting with areas 1; The City Gates.
