Valentine's Day: Free Map Pack! - A collaboration with the Cartographer's Club

Today is a very exciting day! For the first time, I collaborated with many talented map makers in the community, and each of us contributed a map of our own creation as part of a public Valentine's Day release. That's right! Not only do you get my map (Countessa Valentina's Garden of One Thousand Roses), but you get for free all of the maps contributed by these incredible artists.

In front of the parent gods, friends and family, with their hands on the sacred heart, they recite the old vows : “I accept the Light of the Goddess into our hearts. I take the Power of the Father to build our Home. I embrace the Love of the Parents to guide us trough happiness and sadness, though health and sickness, trough fortune or despair. May my spirit be one with the Creators and my body a vessel of their Work.”

Nerdy Maps – The sisters Tumborukhos and Skotia are the proud owners of the “Aphrodite Potions and remedies” store, widely famous for their love potion. What people ignore is that an evil hides behind the facade of love and passion, deep on the store’s basement. They forget Aphodite is the goddess of love and beauty, but also of death and darkness…

BeatrixRae Maps – When the heartaches of love are too much to take, there’s a doctor who can cure your heart of its foolish mistakes.
One by one, these countless lost souls arrive. In hopes, their hearts will soon be revived.
Fear not, my dear Adventurers, for this isn’t your time. Because this year you’re the doctor’s bloody Valentine.

Countessa Valentina's Garden of One Thousand Roses

Below is a short write-up on my map which I hope will serve as both inspiration and a story hook for any adventures you can dream up at this location. I hope you enjoy it!

Life is hard in the Pale (named after the pale light from the moon shining in the perpetual darkness cast over the land) and especially for those of the town of Willow's Reach. The local Burgomaster had petitioned the ruler of the land, Countessa Valentina, for funding to reconstruct the destroyed bridge to the east, bringing more commerce into their town. He knew of her unnatural thirst, and the blood fountains of her garden are known throughout the village. The Burgomaster knew he had to do something for his village to bring in more money or risk starvation for his people, so he marched up to her keep and would not relent on his petition. Finally, Countessa Valentina agreed, under one condition; A Blood Debt owed. A debt to be paid by him at any time, for any reason. With the only other option to see his town wither away into nothingness, he agreed and sealed the deal. With new trade, Willow's Reach flourished, and the city was bustling again. For years they enjoyed the surplus of commerce, and the people lived well, despite the hardships of the Pale. Five years later, the town was abuzz with a wedding invitation at Countessa Valentina's Garden of One Thousand Roses. Who could their dark ruler be getting married to, they wondered. She had been a singular ruler for so long that the thought of two dark overlords ruling them spread fear and anxiety amongst the people. It was not until the Burgomaster saw the royal coach of the Countessa stop in front of his manor that he realized who her betrothed was to be, for it was his daughter's birthday, and she would be coming of age to begin courtship to be married. The blood debt has been called. 

This map is set up on a 30x40 grid and contains both the Interior and Exterior locations of the chapel and outdoor gazebos. If you want a higher resolution quality map, Webps, and different weather/color mood variants, you can check out my Champion Tier post here!
