Sneak Peek - Dungeon & Catacombs

It's finally here! The last and final map for Strahd's castle. This will mark the last of the official CoS maps I've covered, and it has been such a journey through the mists. I'm excited to bring you a snapshot of the last official map of the castle I've been working on: The Dungeon & Catacomb!

I had to size this one slightly larger than the others as I wanted to include the cliff under the overlook above. This map will come in at 80x60, and I will also create several color moods for you to choose from.

Additionally, I've included sections for all three crypts with false bottoms where your players could potentially end up, so you have room to add tokens on the map.

Looking forward to launching this map and completing my Castle Ravenloft series this upcoming Monday!

Cheers,

Hell yes! My campaign will be heading to Castle Ravenloft in our next session to begin the final trek towards their fated confrontation with Strahd, so I am BEYOND excited to have this last bit of the castle ready! You just made my day good sir =)

very impatient to discover this last wonder !

Oh not done with CoS at all :) I just meant this was the last map to be created and I've covered the entire module now at this point. I still 100% plan on creating V2.0 of my older work, including the Amber Temple.

You are truly the defacto map-maker for my campaigns and I cannot praise your work highly enough! You mentioned this being your last official map from CoS, does that mean we should not get our hopes up for an Amber Temple revisit? I love your current version, but your touch-ups from the IToS were so good!

Thank you so much! Castle Ravenloft was certainly a beast to tackle. It lives up to its name, for sure! 7 maps later and hundreds of hours of work,.. but really happy with the results and so glad you are too. Thank you so much!

Hi there Evan, I must admit that's a good idea. Lighting Ravenloft took me forever to do in Roll20, personally. While my grid sizes are the same as the books (The only diff is I use 5-foot squares instead of 10-foot squares), they are going to be different from Roll20. I did try and experiment with your suggestion by cloning the map, deleting the actual map, replacing it with my own, and tweaking the grid size. Then I highlighted and dragged over all of the dynamic lighting and it was "ok". Not perfect, so it will need some tweaking, but it might be easier than starting from scratch. I hope that's helpful!

Yay! Me too!

Thank you so much!! Can't wait for you to see this one, it's my favorite out of all of them :)

Thanks Andy, very excited for Monday. Thanks for all the passion and hard work you put into these maps. It really shows!

So cool! I do have a question, though. How do these maps size with the Roll20 maps? I’d love to just slide yours over those but not have to redo the dynamic lighting.

Evan Ross

so excited!!

Hype! This is awesome and you have done a fantastic job of bring ravenloft to life!
