Hey everyone, and happy Release Monday! For today's release, I have updated my forest map and created the Dark Woods. This moody forest map is chock-full of overgrown, twisted nature, plenty of height and elevation, and no clear path for your players to wander into many different types of forest encounters you might have planned! Plus, I have created many different color variants, as detailed below.
I have enjoyed adding a significant amount of detail to this map and would like to go back and update my previous forest maps to this new standard eventually. My goal is to provide you with many different options, so you don't need to use the same map twice when planning your encounters.

In addition to the usual weather and clean variants for this release, I'm also introducing a few color variants.
Bright: This creates a more brilliant map perfect for mid-day encounters. It lightens up the greens and the rocky terrain and makes it feel almost safe....almost.
Dead: This version creates a dry and dead atmosphere, with the grass and leaves turning brown. Maybe this represents a nearby source of rot or decay. Or a scorching day drying out the vegetation making it extra susceptible to a wayward fireball?
Shadow: As the color begins to drain around you, you'll find deeper shadows and a blueish-grey color scheme that will make your players jumpy around each looming tree shadow.
Vibrant: This variant highlights the colors and makes them "pop" for a more colorful and dramatic feel.
Witchwood: This is a very moody map that focuses on the green of the grass and trees but extenuates the shadows making them seem menacing. This is an excellent map for any hag or fey encounters lurking in the deep woods.
For my Champion tier patrons, in addition to the color variants listed above, this map release comes with the following:

Next, I'll be working on the next Chapter of the Interactive Tome of Strahd, which takes place in Berez before it was destroyed. The chapter takes your players all around this town and the scale of the village, according to the map in the book, is quite large. Too large for a single battle map! So I'll be working on this release in a few chunks, the first being the core town near the river, including the inn and trading goods store. Then I'll go back and create the church as one release and the burgomaster's mansion/garden as another release. My goal is to rebuild the town of Berez for this chapter and make these maps versatile enough for you to use in other campaigns that call for these popular buildings. I'll post a sneak peek once I'm ready to share my work!
I also have the next Lunch Break Heroes adventure, Castle Ravenloft Dungeon & Catacombs, and a special Valentine's treat I'll be planning next month. So the gears are in full motion here in the workshop!
Cheers,
DM Andy
