Update Dec 9th, 2022: I had a request to create a version with the throne facing forward so I have updated all four variants both in 4k / 8k along with the gridded and Webp files as well. All the .zip files have been uploaded with this new variant!

Hello everyone and happy Release Monday! Today's a great day in that I get to share the 2nd level of Castle Ravenloft; The Court of the Count

So far I have really been enjoying creating the Ravenloft maps, despite their challanges. It's important to me to give the time and care this amazing location deserves and I hope you'll enjoy it and it helps bring this incredible location to life (or rather unlife) in your games. After this map, I'll be handling the 3rd level; The Rooms of Weeping before moving onto the Spires. Then I'll head down to the Larder and Catacombs.

For the throne room, I tried my best to recreate the throne on the front cover of the module as well as create some unique looking thrones for the balcony overlooking the chapel. Adding the depth of field in the lower parts really helps add the height and depth of the castle giving it that fuller look. In the hall of the kings, if you look really closely, you might spot some ropes and pullies. I wanted to add something as a "nod" to the vampire trap in this room but also not making it too obvious for your players to spot on the map. In the grand southern stair case you'll noticed a winged surprise shooting up from the hollow column in the center. While your players most likely will not see inside the column, this serves as a reminder to the DM that these bats come flooding out of the top of the spire nightly. Finally, you'll find the coffin like black cabinet and cracked mirrors in the servants former quater (I guess Strahd didn't collect all the mirrors afterall!).

For my Champion Tier patrons, you get to enjoy the following variants:

Since this is a 5 Monday month, I'll be skipping the release on the 24th and plan on releasing on the 31st. For anyone new here, I've always said I will only do four paid posts at most in a single month and I will always be true to that statement. In addition, this gives me a bit of bandwidth to play a little catch up on my next few map projects.

For Ravenloft I'll be working on the 3rd floor; The Rooms of Weeping next in this series followed by the Spires before moving down to the Larder and Catacombs. Outside of this project, I have the Monestery next up for Chapter 10 of the Interactive Tome of Strahd and I'll be working on some fun snowy maps for the next LBH encounter! I want to also create a few more generic encounter maps for roads, forest, caves, etc so make sure you have plenty of areas to run your encounters on without repetition. Until then, take care and thanks for your support!

Cheers,

DM Andy

Thank you so much!! I wanted every single piece of the castle to get the same care of and attention as the key rooms. I'm so glad you are enjoying the Ravenloft maps!

I love all the details, as usual ! The thrones, king’s accountant room… and depth of field is great !
