Hey everyone and happy New Release Monday! Today I'm very excited to share with you the Main Floor of Castle Ravenloft! I really enjoyed working on this map and adding tons of detail room to room. This map I scaled down from the exterior map so that I can add more detail to this map which I felt it deserved.

Castle Ravenloft is such an iconic location in D&D past and present and I wanted to give this everything I had! Your party will see the beautifully ornate front door while they walk into the foyer with dragon statues staring down at them. I wanted the main stairwell to be iconic and I imagine either Strahd himself or Rahadin coming down the candlelit, crimson stairs with their footsteps echoing through the hall.

You'll noticed I added a slight reflective glow on the suits of armor and along the dirty marble flooring. As your party is invited to dinner, they can dry off from the pouring rain near the roaring fireplace (I know this is not in the module but this room just needs a fireplace!) and listen to Strahd play haunting music that echoes through the halls. As your party explores they will find rubble strewn archer posts, most of the mirrors collected from the castle and web-infested hallways with skittering shadows lurking about.

Finally, the desecrated chapel lies in ruins and the pain in sorrow of this place is seeped into its tall walls and boarded up windows. Beams of faint light shine through cracks in the woods illuminated treasures held within. But as the sound of the front doors slamming shut echo through the castle, will your party be able to escape alive?

As mentioned above, I scaled this map down to 50x40 from the exterior map so that I can add more detail to it. I did include a bit of the exterior in the event your party might be snooping around the outside or they were just delivered by the black carriage.

Additionally, as requested, I made a version with slightly less rubble (removed most of the broken boards, stone, and webbing) along with the standard variants as detailed below.

As always, for my Champion Tier patrons this map is available in the following variants:

I have a lot of projects on the backburner since the move but now that my wife and I are getting settled into our new place, I'll be able to get back on schedule. These are all maps I have in the workshop (in no particular order):

So there you have it! Lots of projects on the docket but I'm looking forward to the next release and of course I'll share with you all on Sneak Peek Thursday!

As always, I appreciate all of your support and engagement and I'm hoping I was able to do Castle Ravenloft the justice it deserves!

Cheers,

DM Andy

Hi there Chris; glad you are enjoying the map! In the module the squares are 10 feet each, but I have changed them to five feet each. It's the same space; I just broke up the squares into something more playable, with minis or on a VTT. Everything still should be to scale from the original map.

Andy D'Amato

So I love the Map, But arent the squares supposed to be 10 feet each? This makes some of the items in the rooms a little off. there is some HUGE tables, desks etc,.... and one Enormous turkey on the table.

Chris Morgan

I can't express how much your maps have helped my campaign Andy! They're so good for creating some instant immersion. Amazing!

Myst

This very much sounds like something Lady Wachter might do haha! That sounds pretty doable. I'm pretty sure I bought this module off DMs Guild so let me add a re-worked version of this to my list. Are you in a hurry for it?

Andy D'Amato

Any chance you could do a version of the pews not being destroyed for use in the Wedding at Ravenloft Module from DMs Guild? Lady Wachter might get a bit huffy if she has to sit on a broken down one. haha

Ernie Jones

Love it! just in time as well the party is just on their way for dinner!

Tyberius

This is amazing - I love both with and without clutter - so hard to choose. Amazing...

Pyram King

Awesome!! So glad they'll get to experience this and I hope they enjoy the map! I'll be working on the upper levels before heading down to the larder and catacombs so hopefully they won't explore too much until then haha

Andy D'Amato

Thank you so much! Yeah, the Isometric map is really cool looking but it's such a pain for DMs to use both in person and also on a VTT. I'm glad you are able to find value in the map I've made and can't wait to work on the other levels :)

Andy D'Amato

This is amazing. I started using your maps as we began Curse of Strahd and they're getting to step foot in the castle for the first time, so this came at the perfect time for my party to get a feel for the castle!

NotALeaf

This is brilliant. One gets a feel for the entire space and easily maneuverable for DM and players. And with stackable levels, perfect. Well done!

Brian Adamson

Same here! I'm good at the visuals.. but Pyram is the master at adding context and new lore. I'm looking forward to it as well :)

Andy D'Amato

Thank you so much!

Andy D'Amato

You're too kind and your words mean a lot to me. I'm so glad you are liking the progress on Ravenloft!

Andy D'Amato

I'm so glad I did not disappoint!

Andy D'Amato

You're too kind!! Thank you sir, that means a lot coming from you!

Andy D'Amato

I was playing around with cutting it out and placing it over the exterior map version and it aligns pretty good. Takes a bit of tweaking but it's not that far of a stretch. The upper levels I will be using the same base map as a skeleton so that the interior levels can all be "stacked" on top of each other without issue.

Andy D'Amato

Glad you like it!!

Andy D'Amato

Really looking forward to making this multilevel

David Holden

You have outdone yourself sir!
