Updates: Foundry, Webp Files, and Next Maps

Hi everyone! Just wanted to share some news / projects I have been working on to keep our DM Andy Patreon community in the loop.

Foundry VTT: I finally purchased a Foundry license and started playing around with the program. I'm planning on switching my VTT from Roll20 to Foundry for my next campaign once Curse of Strahd is over and I'm so excited! This means I will (hopefully) be able to help troubleshoot map sizing issues that might arise going forward.

Webp Files & Foundry Sizing Guides: I spent a good chunk of time converting all of my map files for every single map release to Webp files. Additionally, I added a .txt file for a Foundry sizing guide to tell you the image pixels dimensions and the pixels per square to make it easy for you to size my maps in Foundry! This can be found in each map release under the "Webp" folder in the attached .zip file. I'm very excited to bring you this additional service and this will also be included in all future map releases as well.

Lunch Break Heroes Project: I was very fortunate to be given the chance to work with Lunch Break Heroes on their next project. I have created maps for a total of four different locations on some really neat content they are releasing soon! The maps are done and I'm just waiting on the green light from LBH to release here. I can't wait to share with you all!

Roof .png Files: If you missed my previous post about this, I am no longer able to offer roof .png files as it does not comply with Inkarnate's Terms of Service. However I have not thrown in the towel and have been actively looking for solutions so I can provide more .png roofs and other assets. I have been working with an artist friend of mine to produce some custom content for me that I can use for roof tiles. It will be a large project, but I'm excited to eventually have some custom content I will be able to turn into .png files! Stay tuned for more info on this in the future.

Up Next: I'm currently working on the switchback road that leads up to the Abbey in Krezk. Though there are no written encounters in the book, I think there is plenty of opportunity to run some really neat things here. After this, I will be working on the Abbey and I'm very excited about this map!

After the Abbey maps are finished, I will be moving into the werewolf forest and creating maps for:

That's all for now! Time to make me (another) cup of coffee and get back to working on maps. Thanks, as always, for your support and I'm looking forward to continuing to bring you more maps!

Cheers,

DM Andy

You're the best Pyram! Thanks for all your help with Foundry and I'm excited to learn more about it. And your content just keeps getting better and better! The Berez video was awesome!!

Thanks for all you do. Great maps and always working to improve your craft is inspiring. Now I need to step up my game.

Yeah, it's too cool of a program not to use! It's a little overwhelming, but my goal was to learn how to size maps so I can better optimized my webp files and actually upload them to test my dims. I know there are tons of amazing resources out there though so I'm not worried! Thanks so much for your offer to help :)

Ah, you're making the switch to Foundry after all, then? If you ever have any questions, feel free to ask me! Or if you want to talk to people who actually know what they're doing, the Foundry channel in the Curse of Strahd Discord is *hugely* helpful.
