Update Sep 8th, 2021: Another amazing video from Pyram King featuring one of my maps! He's really pulled out the stops with his content on Krezk and I highly recommend it. Krezk feels a bit overshadowed by Vallaki it nice to see this humble little town get some much needed love. Check it out here!
Original Post: Happy Monday everyone! Wow... can't believe July is gone already. It still amazes me at how quickly time can pass when I'm creating new maps. Speaking of new maps...
I present to you the Gates & Streets of Krezk! This is personally my favorite town in Barovia and my players ended up spending a great deal of time here. I used the popular DragnaCarta guide and ran the Baron as a werewolf which my players loved.
I built this map with the following features:
- As described, the main walls have ladders leading up to them, but guards can also get to the walls by way of the two guard towers (which include arrow slits).
- The first home nearest the walls is the Burgomaster's home. I wanted to keep the rustic feel of Krezk and try and marry nobility with simplicity. They also have the nicest graveyard in the town (and oldest) and you'll notice a fresh grave for their most recent deceased child along with a dug up grave (those pesky Mongrelfolk are at it again...). Additionally you'll notice the two rooms for the kids now vacant... a wounded place where the Krezkov's now avoid. I also included an outside wine cellar (the wine barrels are dry) and I included the secret holding cell for the Baron's transformations in the event you are using the Dragna guide. (If not, nothing a little dynamic lighting won't hide from your players if using VTT).
- Some farm land and plenty of livestock! The farms are tiny as each household maintains and grows their own crops (what they can grow given the cold and lack of sun) and share livestock resources.
- Tiny graves all over the place! A few of them have been dug up...
- 8 various sized homes for the Krezkovian citizens.
As always, for my patrons I've packaged these up in .rar and .zip files which contain the following variants:
- Grid / Gridless
- Day / Night
- Snow / No Snow
- Exterior / Interior / Interior 2 (Containing the upper level of the guard towers and the basement of the Baron's home)

2025-03-27 21:35:52 +0000 UTCSo the maps are all the exact same size, including all the of exterior features so you won't see a change other than the interior if you switch images. Depending on which VTT you are using, in Roll20 for example you can just upload both interior and exterior maps and use the "back" button on the map layer to toggle between both images. I'm not that familiar with Foundry, but I believe you can toggle between background images. Some will even cut out the roofs using a tool like Photoshop or Gimp and use the layers addon in Foundry to create roof layers over the interior map. I wish I could offer up the roofs as .png files but unfortunatly, it's against the ToC's of the program I use to make the maps.
