Hey everyone!
First and foremost, thank you all for your generous support and excitement! I love hearing that I can make a map just in time for your games and hearing your players are loving being more immersed in the game.
I just wanted to write a quick update so you all know what to expect over the next few weeks. As you have noticed, I've been working on Vallaki maps which, as I'm sure you are no doubt aware, is one of the largest areas of the module, second only to Castle Ravenloft.
With that said, I have been working on areas that don't have maps first to fill the holes, and then I will re-do the areas which have maps from the module. In addition to Vallaki, I'm also branching out to Lake Zarovich as well with the Bluto encounter and some other maps detailed below.
So with that said, here is the list of maps I will be working on next:
Vallaki
- Arasek Stockyard. This will have the yard with storage sheds, Rictavio's wagon (Which I will also make into a PNG file so you can relocate it), the general store, and a large storage warehouse. Plenty of places for encounters from back-alley deals in the warehouse to the possible escape of Rictavio's "pet".
- "Slums of Vallaki" with Bluto's home. This is something I use in the game and like to have more seedy areas of the town to run encounters.
- "Alleys of Vallaki" which I plan to have tight alley ways and many connected roofs for your players to have roof top / alleyway encounters. I'm also planning on creating a secret entrance to a homebrew location I use "The Sanguine Rose" which is a brothel operated by Ernst. I will try and make this general enough to be used as a cult hideout for Lady Wachter's goons.
- From the popular MandyMod content I plan on creating the Orphanage and Reformation Center
- All four gates (at least one to start and I may come back and visit the other three).
- All named locations (Bluewater Inn, Coffin Maker Shop, etc).
Lake Zarovich
- Bluto Lake Encounter. This will be a long-vertical map (40 wide by 100 long!) with Bluto's boat and three rowboats on the coast. I plan to make all boats PNG files as well so you can place them around the map
- Generic shores of the lake for any lake encounter (may do a campsite here and one without)
- Lake Zarovich boat rental. A small shack with a shabby dock to the north of Vallaki. I use this in my own game for players who want to book passage across the lake (as part of a lead in quest to the Mad Mage)
This should take care of this area quite nicely and give you plenty of maps to run tons of possible encounters. If you have any feedback or suggestions for this area, please let me know in the comments!

Hi friend! No worries at all and I appreciate your support! Hopefully we'll see you back soon and best of luck to your party out there. If they head back to Vallaki there should be a bunch of maps for you to use!

But my party is on the way out of Vallaki and if that's the forseeable future of releases then sadly I'll have to cancel my Patronage. Keep posting on Reddit, though, I'd love to come back and resub when you move on to other areas or even other modules! Best of luck, Andy!

I probably won't include that in the written encounter for the Sanguine Rose since I want to make it general enough to be used for all audiences. We covered all of those areas in our session zero so my group was good with it, but others might not be. I might make a new NPC as part of the Keepers of the Feather who is there investigating Ernst and his brothel of Succubi :P

2021-06-23 05:01:43 +0000 UTCLots of great ideas! I bought a module someone had on DM's Guild called Behind Tser Falls, and it involves getting back the Mad Mages spellbook and staff. Excited to run it, plus see if the players can avoid trying to fight him in the mountains. Diplomacy is hard with many players haha. I found a big mansion map that I'm using if it comes up, but your idea sounds fun. I'll wait excitedly! I made Muriel a 16 year old Wereraven, in charge of following the party. They find her at the Blue Water Inn drinking a glass of milk at the bar lol. I don't think my version of Muriel would be appropriate to work at the brothel 😬

2021-06-23 03:34:30 +0000 UTCYeah, the Reformation Centre will be a fun new location to build. I have not yet scoped that one out but it's certainly on the docket! I'll re-read MandyMods content to make sure I get all the key points and add my own feel to it as well :)

2021-06-23 03:01:03 +0000 UTCReally interested to see your take on the Reformation Centre! The Sanguine Rose sounds like an interesting place too. What hooks do you have for players to find it, and do you have extra side quests related to it?
