Test Game: Cave Story

Hey guys!

Despite popular belief I haven't given up on my attempts to make a more complex game than just a CYOA like Changing Perspectives Again (Not that there's anything wrong with that). I've got something planned that I've been slowly working on that I really think you all might like. It's still in the super early stages so I don't really wanna announce much yet and get peoples hopes up but just know things are in the works!

To that end, I've been experimenting with some new mechanics and trying to learn better ways to do things I did before. I'm working to try to fill in the gaps and shore up the shortcomings I had that ultimately made Scientific Espionage so difficult to continue working on. And I figured, If I'm gonna experiment I might as well make something interesting out of it, right?

This is a test game I made that I was mostly using to experiment with some new functions like a more complex dynamic appearance system, randomization capability, and some different ways to handle triggers for events. It's not anything super fancy or incredibly complex but I did try to have a bit of fun with it so hopefully you all can get a few minutes of fun out of it.

Right now There's two rooms to search and each one has 6 possibilities that can happen. Most of them are actual changes, transformations, or events but I did throw a couple jokes in there to have fun (and cause I needed to try larger numbers of options when testing some randomization functionality)

I make no promises If this will ever be continued because I feel like I mostly got what I needed out of it and I'm gonna put that effort towards the main project I'm hoping to have ready to actually show here in the next month or two. But for now enjoy this silly little side thing. Another thing or two like this might pop up in the near future as I continue experimenting with things to try to be a better game dev in the very limited area I'm capable. 

For now I'll probably leave it patreon exclusive for now but I might decide to post it publicly in the near future if you guys actually like it enough and think others would enjoy this silly little thing.
