New Project! Scientific Espionage

Good afternoon everyone!


Since I got abruptly and unexpectedly fired I've been using my unemployment time to try to learn a few new skills. I'd really like to try and give a run at supporting myself through my writing if somehow I can make that possible. So, to do that I've been learning how to ACTUALLY use Twine. Specifcally: for more than just a simple CYOA story (not that there's anything wrong with those.)


So. Allow me to introduce the alpha version of my new upcoming Twine Adventure Game:


Scientific Espionage


I've been working hard to learn some basic levels of coding and even in my limited knowledge I've been able to do some pretty fun and interesting things so far. Contextual events and descriptions based on your inventory and status, alternate event options based on what you have at hand. All that kind of fun stuff.  I plan to get more complicated with it as i learn more and add too it and have things planned for the future like Statistics and stat checks for certain events as an example. A lot of it really just depends on how well the reception is and how far i can take this before my savings dries up and I'm forced to try and get a regular job again (Which I'm REALLY not looking forward too being in the center of anti-masker trump town republican land.)


So yea! Check it out, and tell me what you all think so far. And I mean that. I really would like as much feedback as i can get. Anything from bug reports to general opinions to suggested and requested new content. Every little bit helps me try to make this something that I can actually live off of and enjoy doing at the same time. You can find the game and password for it at the link below.

For now this alpha build will be exclusive to you all here. I ask that you please don't spread it around further. I'm hoping to have a more complete beta version to release by the weekend publicly.

Update: Fixed the scrolling issue (I'm pretty sure). let me know if theres another issue.

I'm really impressed with how great this is so far. Your CYOA/interactive works have always been phenomenal and this looks like a step beyond that. You should be proud of this, I know I'm proud as hell to be your patron and a friend.

Ah, makes sense. I like the idea of commissioning add-ons or characters as well. I will start brainstorming along those lines. :-)

I thought he might be right up your alley <3. should have the rest of his initial interactions done for the beta build this weekend then i think my next content focus is gonna be on the tiger.

I don't know if commissioning games like this isin the cards anytime soon haha. This so far took me (including the time it took for me to learn and experiment with coding) over a week of full(Ish) time work to do :P. Now i Have absolutely been considering the idea of allowing people to commission specific additions or to have their own characters inserted into the game.

I flipped through it and while I skimmed the words, I paid more attention to the logic and like what you had going, and noticed the one "optional" section of text based on whether Wolf was present or not. This is a nice start! If you think you might be doing more commission work as CYOAs in the future, it's totally something I'd be interested in brainstorming on for ideas to send. :-)
