Pre-Op Update

Pre-op appointment was on the 6th and everything went well. My health was great, so surgery is locked in for the 19th!

Starting on the 12th (7 days before surgery), I have some herbal supplement restrictions. Most of them don't apply to me aside from multivitamins and green tea, though.

I also got to speak with the nursing and surgical team and have more information about how things are gonna go on the day of surgery:

• I have to be at the hospital by 6:30am, meaning I have to be up at like 5am getting ready ;-; didn't know I'd have to be up that early but it is what it is
• They'll be taking a couple hours to prep me, do pre-surgery tests, etc and then they'll give me anxiety medication before putting me under anesthesia for the operation
• The surgery will be 30 minutes to an hour, but my operation slot reservation is an hour long
• After surgery, I'll be staying for another 1-2 hours while I wake up from anesthesia and they make sure I'm alright
• It's an outpatient procedure so I will be going home the same day

I've been getting really nervous and scared now that the surgery is getting closer and closer, but I'm trying to stay calm and be positive! I'm looking forward to the recovery period afterward and I'm excited to finally hear my normal voice again when I fully get my voice back. Next update will be on the 19th or 20th where I'll tell you all how surgery went and explain my post-surgery plans!
