i actually find it a genius move from simon and their team, with how their debut progression went. tippy toes was (and their lyrics even state it) just an introductory track. i dont think they wanted to go all out on their debut bc it could just be a temporary viral trend that would eventually fizzle, so they started lowkey - even with the mostly monochromatic mv. then mascara was the official “kpop” debut, even the fact that it was the first song promoted in music shows proved that. the mv was also more stereotypical kpop compared to their next ones. and once they were done dipping their toes in the pool, they went in with the big splash that was shooting star and left right. i think this was the real debut “XG” debut, unapologetically and no longer afraid to show their true colors after testing the waters. if they debuted with shooting star, im not sure things would go as well as they have now. again, genius creative business move that i may be reaching but i still respect XGALX for!! ❤️

The girls did great, I'm so proud of them! I felt like Weekend 2 was even better thanks to no wind and Coachella doing a better job with the audio and cameras.

Yeah, I was emotional during Shooting Star too. For a lot of us, it's the start of our journeys with XG. They sang about their aspirations in that song and it manifested everything for them. I'm so incredibly proud of them. ;_;
There's a rumor going around that Howling (and/or the spiels, probably) might have been cut since their set started late (the previous set started and ended late, it seems) and Coachella Sunday has a hard curfew at midnight and will fine them if they go overtime.
The strong winds also seem to have curtailed the planned use of pyrotechnics (likely for the end of Shooting Star) if the account of one Coachella attendee of XG's set is true. They were amazing in week 1, and hopefully it's less windy in week 2 and things go smoother for them.
