I really like this album! As for woke up in Tokyo, like I understand that it’s supposed to be fun, but I’m not gonna lie I was a bit disappointed because I really wanna see them go all out with their rapping skills, preferably with raps that they wrote. But there’s still lots of time so I’m just hoping we’ll get it one day

2024-11-12 14:31:27 +0000 UTCI love this album. Extremely solid from a still rookie group. Regarding I Woke Up In Tokyo, I get not everyone will like it but I enjoy it. Sure it's silly lyrically, but it's suppose to be. It's a fun song. Remember FUN, people? I do agree with your point though, they could have done less of the hook and filled it out with longer verses.

I'd say Woke Up In Tokyo is perhaps not a song I'll listen to in any mood, but I've certainly had my moments where this was the perfect song. It's just fun! And Really Like You might also be the one I've listened to the most, because the last couple of weeks I've been missing Winner a lot, and this reminds me of them (No wonder with Airplay producing and Mino on the lyrics)

I used to be obsessed with one of her EPs in college. 😅 (Did you know she has writing credits on a *bunch* of IVE songs, Taemin’s Criminal, and Magnetic?) Anyway, so far I’ve mostly had Love, Maybe and Really Like You on repeat, but the entire track run from Drip to Billionaire is immaculate for me.
