Comments

Angie

I just saw you posted all these so I am very excited to sit and watch the show again w u!! I'm a little behind but it's okay i'll binge it all makes it even more fun! Thailand has been giving us some amazing shows this year! GAP was one of my favs BUTTT I recently watched The Secret Of Us and OMG.. the couple on that show might just have the best chemistry I have ever seen it's insane HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend it!!!!!

In fairness to Sam, they (I think Tee? Could be wrong on that) did straight up drop the line in one of the episodes in this upload that Sam has been repeatedly telling Kirk she doesn’t like him romantically ever since they got engaged. 😭 Otherwise, it’s an arranged marriage — and while I’m opposed to it, especially in cases like this where it’s clearly against Sam’s will, they (generally) gotta do what they gotta do.

These two are actually my favorite series. Especially TSOU ))

Also while I get what you're saying with Kirk and Nita, I raise you... Kirk and Kade?? Idk man I see the vision. It crossed my mind a few episodes ago and now I'm plagued with the idea

Oh yeah 100%. My general thoughts for most of these characters boil down to: "totally understandable and justifiable feelings, methods of dealing with said feelings... not the best BUT very relatable" I think that's part of what makes this show so charming. The drama is there but it doesn't feel like it's too much or over the top because it's very easy to empathise with all of our complex characters here. Most of these characters are pretty superficial which is fine - they provide much needed comic relief and support - but with Mon, Sam, Kirk & even Nop, you have characters that have very relatable feelings and various different ways of dealing with said feelings, some positive, some negative. At the end of the day it would be a pretty boring show and the characters not even half so believable if everyone processed their emotions in the most perfect, healthy way lmao. So yeah Kirk is totally justifiable in feeling angry, hurt and played and I certainly don't think he's a bad guy, he's just made some bad choices (even if it weren't for the Mon of it all, my guy going behind Sam's back for the business stuff and also doing the whole public proposal to SAM OF ALL PEOPLE were not the best decisions he could have made lmao) but he'll learn - hopefully

Kaia

Hmmm I have to say I feel like even as a gay woman I don’t feel like and I can’t believe im gonna say this but while Kirk was wrong in many instances I feel like he also got played by Sam’s slight cowardice regarding this arranged marriage. To me he seemed like a dude doing his best with the cards given but to a more honest point he was essentially being played for a fool like yes it’s clear Sam didn’t want to marry him but she also couldn’t stand up to her Grandmother. I feel like family obligation is also his reason but he seemed to want to make it work but I feel there could have been more transparency there from Sam (I know skewer me) and i understand him feeling hurt because by all means he feels Mon is also his friend and she was playing in his face as well. That’s my only negative lesbian critique idk 😭😂 kinda want Kirk and Nita to just go off and be a power couple 😂

I recommend you check out affair GL. It ends in a couple of weeks but its so good. Hope that when you have time you can check it out!

Secret of Us is a good one and a bit shorter. Also 23.5 is very cute

GeminiLightning

we all would fold for Nita aka Heidi Amanda Jensen 🙂‍↕️ if you ever get deeper down the rabbit hole & start watching bts/irl content, Heidi’s personality is gold 😂

They can be soooo useful with regard to communicating how a character processes vulnerability and revealing aspects of themselves they (usually) don’t display in public.

I cannot believe I have been stripped of my background gays what a tragedy. But also good to know about Blank, I'll keep it in mind :)

Kaia

Also yeah are there some instances where a love scene is totally gratuitous and unnecessary from a plot/character stand point? Sure. Is that the case here? NO MA'AM

👏 MORE 👏 EVIL 👏 LESBIANS 👏

Kaia

• Your whole sidebar about the love scene in Ep. 09 is exactly why I roll my eyes at the “sex scenes add nothing to the plot” crowd, but I digress • [clapping for emphasis] We need more evil* lesbians in media! (*she’s mostly hot and conniving, it counts) • As someone who has been eyes emoji-ing at Tee and Yuki since episode…four? I need to know the tea immediately. • …I also made the cat joke in my head, thank you. • At this point I think I’m just adding bullet points so I’ll end it with I LOVE THEM BOTH SO MUCH.

just a couple extra tidbits of gap universe meta-knowledge: firstly there were indeed more Tee and Yuki scenes shot originally, but they had to be cut due to contract conflicts; and secondly even though Gap and Blank are set in the same universe, they still differ slightly continuity-wise because some of the Gap the series plot points are different from the novel and Blank sticks closer to the original in this regard (despite having adjustments done as well)
