I found this quote from an article about the explanaition: "It was then explained that if the loser of an Agni Kai is spared, they have to shave every part of their head except for the topknot. This gesture is similar to other cultures in that it is a sign of shame for one's humiliating defeat."

2024-03-08 06:34:39 +0000 UTCI can always count on you to enjoy the underrated things—fun (?) fact, The Great Divide is considered *thee* filler episode of basically the entire series and is very controversial because of that, to the point where a much later recap episode I will not spoil deliberately leaves it out. 😭 (As a person who watched the show as a kid while it was airing, I only recently became aware of this drama. I do admittedly skip it sometimes lmao.)
