Portia Puns

One of the reasons portia hated edwin is because he is funny, and it would make her mad how hard she'd laugh becase SHE HATES HIM. She's a big fan of puns/silly jokes, he's more of a dry humor guy, but as soon as he sniffed out her dorky joke taste, it was all over... She doesn't see herself as very funny, she's good at everything else, but her delivery is lacking... she tends to laugh too hard at the joke before she can finish it. they kinda would just make each other laugh and then scream at each other because IT'S NOT FUNNY. Portia loves corny jokes, so she will laugh to herself and finally get it out, so by then the punchline is ruined, but edwin loves it. I think she's only actually funny when she isn't trying. Obviously, Portia has a kinda ugly laugh/snorts so she HATES it. She likes edwin so much because he's so funny and charming. Edwin knew he loved her when she put together a VERY corny joke based off his interest, showing that she not only secretly listens, but thinks about it... also because she couldn't even finish the joke. He told her he loved her before the punchline.... And he never found out what it could have been until they come back together with apologies after their break up. Portia demands he be her boyfriend and that she isn't ready to say the words because it frightens her, but she feels the same... he asks what the punchline was supposed to be. She admits she was hoping to come up with one to make him laugh but it was not very funny, at least not funny now.... 'How does a bird plan their schedule?.... they dont... they wing it!'

She accidentally says love you when he drops her off at work, he calls her gay. neither discuss it until later that night she very sappily admits she does love him and he is disgusted by her sappiness and tells her to keep it to herself (clearly a joke) and they become OFFICIAL, bf gf status. Edwin is thrilled because he finally has what he always wanted, but is nervous because of Portia's very clear popularity. He's shy and more awkward then she is... Only during a brunch with her friends, Portia pulls out her phone and repeats a joke he had told her, telling everyone how funny he is, how much she loves her bf. He realizes she's been writing down all the funny things he says to her so she can fawn to her friends about it.
