Lil doodle dump. Edwin and Portia have known each other since they were very little and see each other a lot due to being classmates and family friends etc, I like to think that they butt heads 99% of the time, and then have these very sincere moments where its like the person you despise is also your person... and the only person that really GETS you which is kinda why you despise them. Not sure if they end up getting hitched cause of an oopsie baby, but i think theyd be the most likely to have it happen to lololol Edwin buys her a house to surprise her (she's never lived in a house that she or her parents owned) and is trying to fix it up, portia or someone sees and tells portia they saw edwin go into a house with a woman (the realestate agent) and when she asks him, he denies that he did anything that day, and has a pep in his step. Portia is freaked out because this is the first relationship that shes had where shes actually invested/in love, and just like her other ex's are now fooling around with other girls etc. During this, she finds out she's been feeling sick for a reason and is doubley depressed because things were good and now shes going to be a single mom, so she confronts him, which he denies because ITS SUPPOSED TO BE A SURPRISE, and then finally it all comes out. Edwin is really the only person that knows JUST how hard Portia works, and how she continually gets set backs that are from her family or life, and that she doesn't complain that it's unfair, she just soldiers on, and wants to do something for her for once

Edwin didn't want to go to college because it's what his parents expected of him, Portia wanted to go to college because it would be an escape and an education. Edwin started his own business and was very successful, while Portia was told she can either help her parents not lose their house, or go to college.... obviously she gave up her dream, and Edwin was there to finally realize the situation she's in.
