Placebo (strip)

Any personal examples of placebo? I remember that when I was a kid I thought Skittle's made me ride my bike faster, like it was some sort of speed boost haha! Really, I would just... ya know, pedal harder, but I convinced myself it was the power of the Skittle's.

I love Lola!

Any update on the graphic novel?

But... If Lola is an ork, she WILL fly by the force of WAAGH!!! 😅

Lol!!!! Peanut brain 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Give a man any pill, he’ll thank you and appreciate it.

This is how Nike became a multi billion dollar company.

I believe deep down mr wrinkles cares about Lola and wants too keep her safe.

I was convinced M&M's cured headaches

Had a similar to yours but it was Snickers. Little bite size was 30 seconds. Standard bar was a full minute.

This is true! Chicken actually has more tryptophan than turkey does. The reason we get tired after eating it on Thanksgiving is because we have big ol full bellies and are exhausted from being social and active all day. But you have to admit, that nap between dinner and dessert hits different. 😂

Love the expressions in the final panel!

Apparently there is a study that Turkey does not actually make you sleepy after eating it. This came up during a family Christmas dinner.

How did she get up there in the first place?

I think that there are quite a few Ork Boyz that would strongly disagree with that last statement.

I think the sugar rush from the Skittles probably did make you pedal a little faster.

I once had these running shoes with little air bubbles on the side, and when I pressed those little air bubbles you can bet I was the fastest kid on the block.

I was doing an EMS standby for an event last year when a young mother brought her little girl to me with a skinned knee. The little girl was quite upset so I gave her an "ambulance bandaid" which, I informed her, is far higher strength than normal bandaids. The effect was immediate. The patient was fixed, the mother was deeply grateful.

Quite a few times, I went through…. Ummm… Never mind. That’s more Schrödinger’s cat effect that the placebo effect. Oh, well…

Sugar rush. The skittles really DID make you ride your bike faster.

I worked at a summer camp for several years. We use to give kids tic tacs or altoids and tell them they were home sick pills. Worked every single time. If you ever send your kids to camp and you wonder why you have to authorize a specific line saying the camp is allowed to give your kid a breath mint, that’s why.

Poor Mr. Wrinkles.

Where is Tinkerbell😂

Good example of the placebo effect! There is gene being investigated to see who is more susceptible to it and might explain why some people are reacting. However, as part of the severely disabled, I can tell you that sadly those 'treatments' taunted by so many are very harmful and keeps people in pain because they stop taking their meds, etc. Or stop cancer treatment O_O I've read my share on disabled blogs .Don't do it, kids!

I had a cat and a dog once. My cat was concerned if something was wrong with her doggy pal :)

I feel like this is a misrepresentation of cats. 😂😂 As a certified cat lady, I can attest that cats will not care about the dog jumping. They will either be right behind them to push them off, not paying any attention or just staring, waiting for the “idiot” dog to do something so it can get back to grooming itself. Haha.

Mini mnms made me get better grades on my math homework!

This is such a relatable conundrum. Honestly I think a majority of us have something we will swear to at some point in life more becauee we want it to be real than because it’s ACTUALLY real.
