Wasps are grumpy, but angry hornets are just plain awful! Scary scary things!

What’s with wasps hand😂😂

Is the green guy a praying mantis? It doesn’t matter what he his but I’m just curious on if he’s something specific or just a insect you kinda just drew.

Yellow jackets. They are the utter evil in the stingy stripy bug world. They make wasps and hornets seem reasonable.

I think more accurate would be discovering that while Bee was holding wasp back, hornet murdered the ant and was already half done eating him. Probably too violent, but much more accurate.

What type of insect is the green guy? He looks similar to Bee.

I don't think anyone likes wasps. Not even their Moms.

I like the fact, that the hornet looks even more badass but just stands there. Because most of the hornets in RL aren't doing anything, unless you tease them.

Wasps are angry little critters if threatened. I just give them their space and try to destroy their nests in the early stages of building.

Nature needs predators, too. Back when my wife was a grad student she did her work on controlling an invasive insect pest that was causing a lot of damage to crops. The only viable solution was a parasitic wasp. Thank Ceres and Tithonus it was around.

Thanks for spelling "pollinators" correctly. It's tricky, what with "pollen" being the plain noun.

SAME! I hate summertime for many reasons, but one of them is 'wasp' season. I've had to ask my mom's husband to knock down nests, and I'm in the process of making my wasp spray. (Water, rubbing alcohol, dish soap (dawn), and peppermint extract or oil).
I was hoping the big TX freeze would have made a dent in the bug population, but it appears it did absolutely nothing.

Hornets are insane
2021-03-26 21:31:28 +0000 UTC
Hey! Wasps are pollinators, too! I know a lot of people don't like them because they can be aggressive in defending their nests (which can be in really inconvenient places), but they really are ecologically important. They're also an important source of food for a lot of birds and other small animals, and they themselves will prey on common garden pests like hornworms. And while honey bees are not native to the US, most species of wasp you find here are.
(I know, living peacefully with wasps is a tough sell, and sometimes removing nests is necessary. But if you can at least avoid killing every single wasp you see, and only getting rid of the ones in dangerous/otherwise problematic places, your local ecosystem will thank you!)
