Charity 100
Added 2020-11-01 18:38:56 +0000 UTC100% of my Patreon earnings for this month (November) will be donated to a charity that you vote for!
Here's the deetz:
- To be clear, it's 100% of my earnings; Patreon obviously takes a cut, which is 5% (95 cents of every dollar will go to charity).
- When I say "a charity that you vote for" I mean I will offer a large pool of options for you guys to vote on! I'm doing it this way to prevent the off chance that a divisive charity might get promoted, and turn this into something sour. That said, feel free to suggest charity's in the comments!
- This includes all my earnings from Webtoon, which gets bundled together with my Patreon balance before transferring to my bank.
-There's a few ways you can contribute! You can subscribe to this Patreon! If you're already subscribed, feel free to encourage others to subscribe as well! You can view my comics on Webtoons (link in Instagram bio story), which is free for you, but increases ad revenue for my page!
I'm really hoping there aren't some hidden laws that I'm not accounting for. I researched online but I couldn't find anything that I'd be violating by doing this. So, if there IS something I'm missing that you know of, PLEASE let me know in the comments!
Comment any questions you have about this as well! Thanks!
-Ben

2021-07-04 16:24:15 +0000 UTCI just joined patreon, so I missed on this vote but if you ever decide to donate again, I’d like to suggest Warrior Dog foundation. They retire and rehabilitate MWD’s and police K9s. They have an Instagram and a website if anyone wants to check them out. They do amazing work!

2020-11-10 18:03:36 +0000 UTCI know there's a lot of good animal/military charities suggested but Toys for Tots is having a bad year due to the pandemic and while donations are down the demand has gone up due to so many people losing their jobs.
2020-11-10 18:01:43 +0000 UTCI’ve worked on tech side of philanthropy for a few years, and I can’t think of any laws to worry about as a private donor, as long as you’re giving to an IRS-approved US-based charity. If any are internationally-based, you should look for a US charity that will accept & manage the donation on their behalf. If you need info on any suggested US charities, GuideStar.org and CharityNavigator.org are the best sources.
2020-11-08 17:41:05 +0000 UTChttps://www.blueridgehumane.org I've volunteered here many times and they are such amazing people helping animals who don't have a home. They don't kill animals who have been there too long, they find a home for all of them and will care for those who are left behind!

2020-11-03 07:25:41 +0000 UTCThe Philippines was just hit by the strongest tropical cyclone in recorded history. We tuned into the news before and during the storm. Even though our area wasn’t badly affected, it was beyond terrifying. Even just seeing the devastation on the news. In the worst hit areas, houses and farmlands were destroyed. A lot of families were displaced. There are many donations to help affected families in the aftermath of Goni. They also have a long vetting process for potential adopters to make sure the animals are going to good forever homes

2020-11-02 05:23:03 +0000 UTCI humbly suggest Child's Play. Here's a excerpt from their website. Since 2003 Child’s Play has partnered with children’s hospitals all across the globe. Partner hospitals receive an annual gift designated to support their Child Life department through games and technology. Where available partner hospitals also have Amazon Wishlists tailored to their specific needs. Child's Play also supports our partner hospitals by providing resources like our Therapeutic Video Game Guide and acting as a hub of knowledge where gaming and technology are concerned in the children's hospital setting.

2020-11-02 00:12:50 +0000 UTCFND Action is a charity that is very close to my heart as I have recently been diagnosed with fnd and not a lot of people know about it as it’s an unknown condition that even a lot of doctors/nurses haven’t heard about, making it hard for them to understand what I have when I’ve been taken into hospital due to having a seizure in the night

2020-11-01 23:48:39 +0000 UTCDoctors without Borders, Engineers without Borders. One Inoculates and cares for countries such as preventing treatable and deadly diseases like Polio, Rubella, and Typhoid, the other builds infrastructure such as clean water processing facilities, electricity, housing, plumbing, etc. for said underdeveloped countries and communities. Both are amazing charities and unlike Stars of Hope and most other modern charities, these 2 donate almost 90% of all contributions. Many of the volunteers work for free despite most holding Doctorates and Engineering degrees in their fields. Countless years of knowledge and expertise coupled with the hard work involved while only charging maintenance and raw product fees compared to most others hailed by the media who donate less then 1 cent to the dollar recieved. Rather throw $20 to St. Judes over half of these so called "Charities" any day but these 2 I donate at least $1k a year since 2003 and they've never done wrong by me!

2020-11-01 23:35:24 +0000 UTCIf you’re interested in doing a military charity, I would recommend the Navy Marine Corps Relief society. It’s a great charity that provides a wide array of assistance to Marines and Sailors ranging from small interest-free loans to emergency travel costs to educational and family assistance. It’s also struggling to stay afloat right now and would benefit from your assistance. Regardless of whether or not you choose this charity, I think what you’re doing is a really great thing. I love the comics and keep up the good work!
2020-11-01 23:26:50 +0000 UTCExtra Life is a gaming charity that raises money for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals across the country. Last year we raised over $15 million nationwide. 2020-11-01 23:07:47 +0000 UTCHey man, amazing idea 💙💙 I'd suggest some charity about animal rescues and foster (they always need resources and I always donate to them) or, given the current context, a charity which gives phones/laptops/tablets to kids which don't have any. Online school and uni is hard for everybody, I wish I could help by donating old hardware but I don't have any :c
2020-11-01 22:57:34 +0000 UTCWith Christmas coming up I'd say Samaritan's Purse/Operation Christmas Child. That's what I donate to.
2020-11-01 22:53:02 +0000 UTCPlease consider Defenders of Wildlife. Full disclosure: I work there. If you value wildlife and wild places, this is one of the best places to support. If this week’s announcement of the removal of grey wolves from the protection afforded by the federal Endangered Species Act made you angry, support Defenders. Thank you for considering this.
2020-11-01 22:52:16 +0000 UTCK9s for Warriors which trains and provides service dogs for veterans - at no cost to the vets. A lot of the dogs are rescues, too. https://www.k9sforwarriors.org/ I've been a supporter for several years and they do good work.
2020-11-01 22:50:08 +0000 UTCUS war dogs!!! There are lots of dogs just like Brutus looking for a Pixy to watch over until they get old enough to assend their throne and take their rightful place at the very feet of the almighty. They give so much and then get forgotten when they can no longer give.

2020-11-01 22:19:16 +0000 UTCHow about one of the charities that supports military dogs? There are several (10-11) that exist to support service dogs. 2020-11-01 21:16:04 +0000 UTCI agree with someone who said split it across several charities. Given the comics you do animal and veteran charities would be on message. I will say from an accounting stand point make sure to keep your receipt for tax purposes, since the monthly profit will be going to charity it is non taxable income. Also Jenny Jinya donates a portion of her pateron income to charities every month. She is from Germany but she never seems to have any issues. She takes recommendations from her paterons and then does a random draw each month. So happy to see another artist doing this! Your comics always make me smile and I appreciate it.

2020-11-01 20:52:33 +0000 UTCI'm going with the American Pitbull Foundation - https://apbf.dog/ Not only do they work to change breed specific legislation that most often targets pitties, their Operation Sidekick program trains rescued puppies to provide companionship and PTSD support for veterans. 2020-11-01 19:30:52 +0000 UTCThere are a few charities that I would suggest but instead I’ll offer some advice. When you are deciding which charities to put up for vote. Check them against the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) list. It is a list of charities, local, USA national and global that have applied for and passed checks to allow Federal employees of donate to them and no there isn’t a political bias. The web site also lets to search charities based on how much of the money donated is used to pay salaries of the staff (administrative fund rate) and how much you can expect to go to the actual cause.

2020-11-01 19:25:00 +0000 UTCHeifer International has my vote. https://www.heifer.org/ They do amazing work helping with poverty and hunger around the world. They often go into places that many other groups will not (because of the dangers in the area) and they are very much a "Teach a person to fish and they will eat for a lifetime" group.

2020-11-01 19:19:17 +0000 UTCNovember is diabetes awareness month so something to help diabetics maybee 💙 type one since -91 and it’s a struggle everyday, no breaks, no vacation and it’s taking a toll. Also knowing there is no cure and we don’t even know what causes the disease.

2020-11-01 19:18:59 +0000 UTCsomething for type 1 (juvenile) diabetes. my moms been a type 1 diabetic since she was 11yo. it’s manageable and there’s things to help, but little research has been done for type 1 (unlike type 2 which is preventable and has had much time devoted to research). diabetes can be very scary and unpredictable and me (and my mom) would love to see more funding and research go to it
2020-11-01 19:18:02 +0000 UTCYour local SPCA would be very "on brand" for your comics. This is very awesome of you to do!

2020-11-01 19:03:45 +0000 UTCI am fully confident that the poll will include a good variety of charity options and I think this is wonderful of you to do. I work very closely with a couple of community based charities including a really great one I adopted 3 of my pets from. From my working relationship with them I want to mention that a lot of local charities are hurting right now. So many depend on big events like festivals and marathons for fundraising and with COVID-19 still preventing large gatherings, this publicity and money flow has dried up. There are lots of ways to donate and I encourage everyone to do so, be it money, goods, or maybe lending a helping hand or sharing social media posts. Anyway, thanks for doing this and I hope this kind act inspires others to do the same!
2020-11-01 19:01:45 +0000 UTCMaybe you could split the money according to the percentage of the top 3 or something, there might be some people that might not support your first choice or whatever, but I'm 100% supportive, you're doing a good thing
2020-11-01 19:01:23 +0000 UTCCharities for vet dogs and a cat rescue 🥰
2020-11-01 18:59:07 +0000 UTCAlso as above comments suggest animal related charities. Perhaps a relief fund for animals effected by fires or deforestation

2020-11-01 18:54:07 +0000 UTCAlso, have you considered splitting the money between 2 or 3 charities? That way, you could help more people
2020-11-01 18:53:31 +0000 UTCAnimal charity (no-kill, of course), BLM, LGBTQIA+ charity, homeless people/youths, food bank Christmas is coming soon - Not the Salvation Army though, they are homo/transphobic)
2020-11-01 18:52:52 +0000 UTCThe Humane Society of Huron Valley does amazing work with taking in all animals of all types all over Metro Detroit, and they’re supported by donations. Another good choice would be the American Cancer Society
