Charity 100

100% of my Patreon earnings for this month (November) will be donated to a charity that you vote for!

Here's the deetz:

- To be clear, it's 100% of my earnings; Patreon obviously takes a cut, which is 5% (95 cents of every dollar will go to charity).

- When I say "a charity that you vote for" I mean I will offer a large pool of options for you guys to vote on! I'm doing it this way to prevent the off chance that a divisive charity might get promoted, and turn this into something sour. That said, feel free to suggest charity's in the comments!

- This includes all my earnings from Webtoon, which gets bundled together with my Patreon balance before transferring to my bank.

-There's a few ways you can contribute! You can subscribe to this Patreon! If you're already subscribed, feel free to encourage others to subscribe as well! You can view my comics on Webtoons (link in Instagram bio story), which is free for you, but increases ad revenue for my page!

I'm really hoping there aren't some hidden laws that I'm not accounting for. I researched online but I couldn't find anything that I'd be violating by doing this. So, if there IS something I'm missing that you know of, PLEASE let me know in the comments!

Comment any questions you have about this as well! Thanks!

-Ben

Cool cool, looks similar to my monkey comic who can't cook lol.

I just joined patreon, so I missed on this vote but if you ever decide to donate again, I’d like to suggest Warrior Dog foundation. They retire and rehabilitate MWD’s and police K9s. They have an Instagram and a website if anyone wants to check them out. They do amazing work!

I'm a huge fan of wedefyfoundation.org they help vets work through PTSD issues and give them a community.

Survival packs for homeless vets and their pets! Perfect for your strip! Givegreatergood.org, they’re making packs for homeless veterans and their companions!

Arses21434

https://www.toysfortots.org/Default.aspx It's also run by the Marines so it does fit.

I know there's a lot of good animal/military charities suggested but Toys for Tots is having a bad year due to the pandemic and while donations are down the demand has gone up due to so many people losing their jobs.

I’ve worked on tech side of philanthropy for a few years, and I can’t think of any laws to worry about as a private donor, as long as you’re giving to an IRS-approved US-based charity. If any are internationally-based, you should look for a US charity that will accept & manage the donation on their behalf. If you need info on any suggested US charities, GuideStar.org and CharityNavigator.org are the best sources.

https://www.blueridgehumane.org I've volunteered here many times and they are such amazing people helping animals who don't have a home. They don't kill animals who have been there too long, they find a home for all of them and will care for those who are left behind!

AFSP

I would like to suggest that the money go to your local shelter/rescue group or The Odd Cat Sanctuary (http://www.theoddcatsanctuary.com/). The Odd Cat Sanctuary helps handicapped, neglected, death row, and otherwise challenged cats. :)

amethyst_koneko

Warrior Dog Rescue, here in Minnesota!

Rachel (gr33neyed_gemini)

Paws of War, they help soldiers bring home their faithful companions from war zones. They need the help and it is an awesome charity. Or the Warrior Dog Foundation, helps get those working dogs a good home after their duty has been filled.

Wobblez

Your local Humane Society? (If you donate to the national, it doesn’t help your local shelters. And with Covid, I know donations are down.)

Can you please add salvation army to the list :)

Uriel grey

I know that the artist who is doing "the little trashmaid" is giving some of his earning to an association that clean the océan so i guess it's fine to do it ?

I've been following you since your second or third P&B and this just confirms that I'm gonna continue to subscribe! I love that you're doing this and it makes me happy to know I'm supporting someone like you.

https://www.pawsandstripes.org! It's a nonprofit that works with veterans to provide animals assistant therapy dogs for a variety of purposes, and they're based in Albuquerque, NM.

Lupus Foundation of America. Lupus is really terrible. :(

Hurog

The Philippines was just hit by the strongest tropical cyclone in recorded history. We tuned into the news before and during the storm. Even though our area wasn’t badly affected, it was beyond terrifying. Even just seeing the devastation on the news. In the worst hit areas, houses and farmlands were destroyed. A lot of families were displaced. There are many donations to help affected families in the aftermath of Goni. This is a thread compiled by MovePH: https://twitter.com/MovePH/status/1323104233541885952?s=20

Seb

HEY my mom runs a cat rescue named destinys hope cat rescue and she recently found out she needs major surgery bc she found she has a 11 pound tumor that has grown in her ovaries so my job has been trying to collect money for her but it’s been super hard bc covid so no one comes in the animal hospital I work at. It would be very very nice if maybe you could suggest that as one option or even any animal or cat rescue. I feel they aren’t as well appreciated as others and they tnr and etc. I love your art you’re so awesome and I hope one day to draw like you!!

Destiny Rozek

or any other charity that helps animals or veterans, or veteran animals like Brutus

https://www.petsforpatriots.org

SO generous of you. And I forgot that you were on webtoons, ( hopping over to subscribe there as well )

I think one of the options should be the Wolf conservation center in upstate New York especially now with the new laws

Incognitoman

The Bail Project (www.bailproject.org)

William White

Feeding Pets of the Homeless is a good charity, many homeless people are ex military.

That's very kind of you to do this. Also, I suggest Sea Shepherd https://seashepherd.org/ they are trying to save our oceans from various actions, especially dolphin and whales

Ayael

https://www.petsforpatriots.org/

Jennifer Rittmann

Pets for Patriots, they hep US military veterans adopt a new pet friend. They help veterans find, adopt, and care for their new best friends for their entire lives, by not only offering discounts on the adoption, but helping with medical care and every day needs of the pet.

Jennifer Rittmann

Woof Project Rescue! Not only a dog rescue, they rescue Belgian Malinois which are the #1 tactical dogs used in the military. Active Valor takes veterans are redirects their passion towards making a positive change in their communities.

Habitat For Humanity is always a good choice.

Might I suggest Pause4change? They’re a small dog/cat rescue in Calgary, Alberta. They’re not-for profit and made up entirely of volunteers, so all of the money goes towards the animals. They also have a long vetting process for potential adopters to make sure the animals are going to good forever homes

There’s a no kill animal shelter in Las Cruces, NM called Safe Haven Animal Sanctuary where my family has adopted all of our dogs since I was six and they have cats too!

Sammy512

On your Feet Foundation- they help birthmoms and birthdads deal with everything in their lives post adoption. November is adoption awareness month so this would be a good choice

Bunny’s Buddies- They rescue dogs from meat farms in China/South Korea. They are amazing!!

Another artist I subscribe to does this - she puts the charity list into a random number generator to avoid favoritism. Maybe use this to generate a top 5 to vote for?

Dara Garretson

Kitten Academy would be a good place to donate to as a smaller option. Or a local shelter; Kitten Academy works with DAWS in Connecticut.

Operation Underground Railroad has been getting some big lauds recently for their excellent work in the fight against sex trafficking!

RiverBabbles

Based on Pixie and Brutus being so popular, it would be great to see the money split between an animal rescue (maybe something small and local, or something that has several world-wide branches) and some sort of Veteran’s metal health/PTSD fund!

Equiwent.org They‘re doing a wonderful Job

“Show Hope” charity. They’re around to help with adoptions. HTTPS://showhope.org

Andy

I humbly suggest Child's Play. Here's a excerpt from their website. Since 2003 Child’s Play has partnered with children’s hospitals all across the globe. Partner hospitals receive an annual gift designated to support their Child Life department through games and technology. Where available partner hospitals also have Amazon Wishlists tailored to their specific needs. Child's Play also supports our partner hospitals by providing resources like our Therapeutic Video Game Guide and acting as a hub of knowledge where gaming and technology are concerned in the children's hospital setting.

Faltnor

West side German Shepherd rescue and or wolves and warriors. They work together and the work they do is amazing and I think it would tie in greatly to Brutus being an ex military dog and giving other dogs an improved life!

Hanna Phillips

The leukemia and lymphoma foundation my grandfather died of leukemia he was practically my father I would do anything to make sure nobody else had to suffer through that

Big Guy Littles World is a pet sanctuary

Idk I love pet rescues and I know rescuecuddlecat on Instagram does a lot of good work, but idk if they would be considered a charity. Anyways, I’m so happy you’re doing this!! Thanks :)

TWLOHA is a pretty great cause

Buster

A charity for foster kids is always a great option. They are often forgotten.

Just make sure it's a 501c nonprofit, otherwise you'll end up paying income tax Patreon earnings as you won't be able to deduct the donation made.

Saint Jude's Children's Hospital is always a good choice.

Echo the Trevor Project, plus NAMI, and First Book.

Moose

Please consider http://www.bunnylu.org not a lot of people give to rabbits. I got my babbies from there. It is no kill and the rabbits are kept in big pens not cages! they make sure the people who adopt are knowledgable. Caring for rabbits can be expensive due to vets needing to be specialists. Please add to your list!

Cathy

I’m for Trevor Project or Wounded Warriors project for veterans struggling with mental health

FND Action is a charity that is very close to my heart as I have recently been diagnosed with fnd and not a lot of people know about it as it’s an unknown condition that even a lot of doctors/nurses haven’t heard about, making it hard for them to understand what I have when I’ve been taken into hospital due to having a seizure in the night

A pet rescue would be a great one too!

Anie M

Doctors without Borders, Engineers without Borders. One Inoculates and cares for countries such as preventing treatable and deadly diseases like Polio, Rubella, and Typhoid, the other builds infrastructure such as clean water processing facilities, electricity, housing, plumbing, etc. for said underdeveloped countries and communities. Both are amazing charities and unlike Stars of Hope and most other modern charities, these 2 donate almost 90% of all contributions. Many of the volunteers work for free despite most holding Doctorates and Engineering degrees in their fields. Countless years of knowledge and expertise coupled with the hard work involved while only charging maintenance and raw product fees compared to most others hailed by the media who donate less then 1 cent to the dollar recieved. Rather throw $20 to St. Judes over half of these so called "Charities" any day but these 2 I donate at least $1k a year since 2003 and they've never done wrong by me!

Rokun

If you’re interested in doing a military charity, I would recommend the Navy Marine Corps Relief society. It’s a great charity that provides a wide array of assistance to Marines and Sailors ranging from small interest-free loans to emergency travel costs to educational and family assistance. It’s also struggling to stay afloat right now and would benefit from your assistance. Regardless of whether or not you choose this charity, I think what you’re doing is a really great thing. I love the comics and keep up the good work!

Extra Life is a gaming charity that raises money for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals across the country. Last year we raised over $15 million nationwide. Game day is Nov 7th but money can be raised through the end of the year. This is my 10th year participating, what I raise goes to the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.

Brian Brickner

Hey man, amazing idea 💙💙 I'd suggest some charity about animal rescues and foster (they always need resources and I always donate to them) or, given the current context, a charity which gives phones/laptops/tablets to kids which don't have any. Online school and uni is hard for everybody, I wish I could help by donating old hardware but I don't have any :c

With Christmas coming up I'd say Samaritan's Purse/Operation Christmas Child. That's what I donate to.

Please consider Defenders of Wildlife. Full disclosure: I work there. If you value wildlife and wild places, this is one of the best places to support. If this week’s announcement of the removal of grey wolves from the protection afforded by the federal Endangered Species Act made you angry, support Defenders. Thank you for considering this.

K9s for Warriors which trains and provides service dogs for veterans - at no cost to the vets. A lot of the dogs are rescues, too. https://www.k9sforwarriors.org/ I've been a supporter for several years and they do good work.

US war dogs!!! There are lots of dogs just like Brutus looking for a Pixy to watch over until they get old enough to assend their throne and take their rightful place at the very feet of the almighty. They give so much and then get forgotten when they can no longer give.

O

I especially like this idea. It fits the theme of the strip and makes the most sense.

SaiminJutsu

Hello 🙂. What about Harmony fund Rescue animal charity? They are doing it across the globe and the animals depend on us now as before as in the future. https://harmonyfund.org/

Excella Gionne

Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation. The raise and train German Shepherds to become guide dogs for the visually impaired. Veterans and Paralympic athletes have Fidelco guides as well as hardworking lawyers looking to make changes in the government for those with disabilities. Fidelco.org

CENTER for BIOLOGICAL DIVERSITY

How about one of the charities that supports military dogs? There are several (10-11) that exist to support service dogs. US War Dogs Association (http://www.uswardogs.org/ ), Warrior Dog Foundation (http://warriordogfoundation.org/), Military Working Dog Support Association (http://www.mwdtsa.org/), Mission K9 Rescue (http://missionk9rescue.org/), are a few of the great organizations that provide support for military service dogs and it would be a great nod to Brutus.

Ronald McDonald House!

Techo.org they has office in Miami

November is pancreatic cancer awareness month. Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is a great organization.

Jennifer Finger

National Pediatric Cancer foundation

My favorite charity is Project Night Night. They give a package with a blanket, a book, and a stuffed animal to homeless children in shelters. This is wonderful, thank you for doing this.

Cathy W.

https://www.lls.org/

The leukemia and lymphoma society. Raises funds for research into better treatments for leukemia and lymphoma which are the cancers most likely to affect children. They also provide resources and support for families and patients.

Pets of the Homeless They provide veterinary care for pets of homeless people https://www.petsofthehomeless.org

Sally

Give Kids the World Extralife.org

Ard Rí Sídhhe Dragon

I agree with someone who said split it across several charities. Given the comics you do animal and veteran charities would be on message. I will say from an accounting stand point make sure to keep your receipt for tax purposes, since the monthly profit will be going to charity it is non taxable income. Also Jenny Jinya donates a portion of her pateron income to charities every month. She is from Germany but she never seems to have any issues. She takes recommendations from her paterons and then does a random draw each month. So happy to see another artist doing this! Your comics always make me smile and I appreciate it.

ChelleAnna

I'm going with the American Pitbull Foundation - https://apbf.dog/ Not only do they work to change breed specific legislation that most often targets pitties, their Operation Sidekick program trains rescued puppies to provide companionship and PTSD support for veterans. My other option is Vital Ground - https://www.vitalground.org Vital Ground works with local and state governments and landowners to ensure contiguous migration and roaming habitat for grizzly bears. This habitat also supports the entire ecosystem where bears thrive, including elk, deer, moose, and birds.

Anne Dougherty

Animal rescues please.

Starlight foundation. Video games in children's hospital wards

Harley Q

Hadn't heard of them before so I did a google search. I think this charity fits well with the comic. https://www.puppiesbehindbars.com/

Stephanie L. Weippert

I'd like to volunteer Friends to the Forlorn pit bull rescue. They are an AMAZING group and help way more than just pit bulls. I hope you check them out :) https://www.friendstotheforlorn.org

This is awesome! For suggestions, how about Operation Underground Railroad? They rescue children from sex trafficking and slavery worldwide, and have a great record of both rescues and prosecution of perpetrators.

Vicemage

Non divisive. He doesn't want drama to unfold.

St Jude Children's Hospital

https://www.predatordefense.org They are an organization thet help protect predatory wildlife in America such as "America's cougars, wolves, coyotes, bears, bobcats, birds of prey, to name a few" they've been and advocate for wildlife since 1990 and have been protecting them of legal front by having the use of cyanide bombs on animals banned and they make documentary films to spread animal awareness but they do many many more things, you can read it on their website.

Planned parenthood!!

I second all of these!!

gstar

Movember.com Movember is the leading global organisation committed to changing the face of men's health. They support education and screening that can lead to the recognition and prevention of physical and mental health issues that man face. Suicide, testicular cancer, prostate cancer, breast cancer are just a few.

Blue skies for good guys and gals. They help gold star families and Purple Heart recipients get a weekend to remember. Some of the soldiers even had military dogs!!

• To Write Love On Her Arms - mental health advocacy • K9s United - life-saving equipment and medical care for K9s and working dogs

gstar

https://iheartcats.com/ helps feed animals in shelters. Also the donation is taxed deductible, so not only will u not get in trouble for it but you'll get a little something back!

Blind cat rescue in NC

Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona or another Food bank charity. The CFBSA accepts food donations but with money donations they can turn $1 of donated funds into $10 of food. With this time of year and Covid many families and individuals and seniors are struggling with food insecurity.

Puppies Behind Bars. Inmates train puppies to become service dogs for veterans and retired first responders.

Wynter O

Heifer International - they offer business training and a small starter (bees, fish, or saplings, etc) to help people rise out of poverty sustainably. They also do animals or plants that are local and eco-sustainable to the area. Recipients also take a pledge to spend some of their income on feeding and educating their children and to pass on the same gift to someone else in their community once their business is established. Heifer also works a lot toward girls' education and empowering women as business owners.

E. Freed

A service dog organization! Like little angels, guide dogs for the blind, etc!!

Special Effect. It's mostly in Europe & GB - but they focus on the cause of helping people play videogames when they have no real option for recreation. A lot of the equipment for people who are paraplegic to interact with computers or the like is prohibitively expensive or difficult to use, SE facilitates setting things up, getting the equipment, and helping people actually have a hobby and enjoy playing game where otherwise there was no option for interacting and having fun...

Jeffrey Smith

any of the war dogs charities to bring them home (including the non-military private dogs. They are the ones getting left behind). Veterans Suicide help of your choice.

TWLOHA is my favorite non-profit. They support mental health and connect people to resources internationally.

Amy Tarleton

The wildcat Sanctuary please. www.wildcatsanctuary.org

Raptorzs

I think any mental health charity... the Christmas season can be a tough time for a lot of people and thanks to covid I'm guessing it'll be even worse this year. Otherwise, my pick would be almost any smaller, local charities as they are suffering the most during covid.

Shannon

There are a few charities that I would suggest but instead I’ll offer some advice. When you are deciding which charities to put up for vote. Check them against the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) list. It is a list of charities, local, USA national and global that have applied for and passed checks to allow Federal employees of donate to them and no there isn’t a political bias. The web site also lets to search charities based on how much of the money donated is used to pay salaries of the staff (administrative fund rate) and how much you can expect to go to the actual cause.

RocketAdminW

Orphan Kitten Club, who helps kittens, as well as TNR for colony cats, and aiding other animals when possible. Another option is Janie's Fund, which helps girls who have suffered from abuse or neglect.

Rhiannon Sherwood

"Too young to wed" is an NGO that rescues underage (sometimes as young as 8!) girls from forced marriage. They provide them with education and life sustenance, and they also raise awareness in rural areas to avoid further underage marriages

The National Disaster Search Dog Foundation - They recruit rescues and make them into rescuers. https://searchdogfoundation.org/ There are a lot of great charities out there but this is one of my favorite canine related ones

DD

U.S. War Dogs Association. USWarDogs.org Warrior Dog Foundation WarriorDogFoundation.org Military Working Dog Support Association. Mission K9 Rescue: MissionK9Rescue.org

"water.org" Through small loans they enable people to get running water in their house, thus giving women the chance to work and girls time for their education, as well as proving a more hygienic environment. These loans are interest free and paid back throughout long periods of time. The money they get is used into being able to give more loans at once

Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs medicalservicedogs.com

Heifer International has my vote. https://www.heifer.org/ They do amazing work helping with poverty and hunger around the world. They often go into places that many other groups will not (because of the dangers in the area) and they are very much a "Teach a person to fish and they will eat for a lifetime" group.

Micah Williams

A local, to you, rescue would be nice. A lot of rescues are really hurting right now.

Sea Shepherd!!!! They do so much for animals and sea life!!!!

Charities that rehome retired MWD's.

💙

Planned Parenthood

Kim D

The issues that hurt my heart are childhood hunger, domestic animal abuse, and wildlife animal medical care. This is a generous gesture. You make me happy with your comics, and with your good soul. THANK YOU.

Chris Fow Cohen

St Jude is close to my heart, but do what you think is a good charity! Love your work!

Mak

The Trevor project is a great one

Tahn

November is diabetes awareness month so something to help diabetics maybee 💙 type one since -91 and it’s a struggle everyday, no breaks, no vacation and it’s taking a toll. Also knowing there is no cure and we don’t even know what causes the disease.

The Beagle Freedom Project!

something for type 1 (juvenile) diabetes. my moms been a type 1 diabetic since she was 11yo. it’s manageable and there’s things to help, but little research has been done for type 1 (unlike type 2 which is preventable and has had much time devoted to research). diabetes can be very scary and unpredictable and me (and my mom) would love to see more funding and research go to it

Your local SPCA would be very "on brand" for your comics. This is very awesome of you to do!

Dusty - ZL2TOY

The Trevor Project does so much good for LGBTQ+ youth, it would be a great candidate for this

Tapestries of life is building an orphanage down in Mexico https://www.tapestriesoflife.com/

Derek Potter

I know Dr. Mike has been doing something similar to this on his patreon for a while now so you should be fine

That’s a good idea

Ben Hed

Any domestic violence, pregnancy centers,

I am fully confident that the poll will include a good variety of charity options and I think this is wonderful of you to do. I work very closely with a couple of community based charities including a really great one I adopted 3 of my pets from. From my working relationship with them I want to mention that a lot of local charities are hurting right now. So many depend on big events like festivals and marathons for fundraising and with COVID-19 still preventing large gatherings, this publicity and money flow has dried up. There are lots of ways to donate and I encourage everyone to do so, be it money, goods, or maybe lending a helping hand or sharing social media posts. Anyway, thanks for doing this and I hope this kind act inspires others to do the same!

Maybe you could split the money according to the percentage of the top 3 or something, there might be some people that might not support your first choice or whatever, but I'm 100% supportive, you're doing a good thing

Charities for vet dogs and a cat rescue 🥰

Also as above comments suggest animal related charities. Perhaps a relief fund for animals effected by fires or deforestation

Charities for Veterans or Dog rehabs.. I'm international and don't know which ones are good.. Or St. Judes Childrens Hospital

KyleZeEnabler

There are so many worthy charities, that I wouldn't be able to choose. But veterans and or dog rehab.

Saga Ravn

Also, have you considered splitting the money between 2 or 3 charities? That way, you could help more people

Animal charity (no-kill, of course), BLM, LGBTQIA+ charity, homeless people/youths, food bank Christmas is coming soon - Not the Salvation Army though, they are homo/transphobic)

The Humane Society of Huron Valley does amazing work with taking in all animals of all types all over Metro Detroit, and they’re supported by donations. Another good choice would be the American Cancer Society

Elizabeth Nino

A mental health charity or a charity that helps trans individuals with their transitions/lgbtq+ community

Wounded Warrior or Marine Corps League

I think it's really great that you're doing this! A great charity I'd like to bring to your attention, is aussie ark, who is protecting the wildlife in australia.

Renate Venema

Maybe something in relation to cancer research, my grandfather has cancer so this hits close to home

Anything to prevent cancer or mental illness, both are spreading more and more

Xan151

Cancer charities are very close to my heart so it would be good if you could consider something like that

It’s The Pits dog rescue they are a nonprofit but really need donations to help a lot of their dogs

Nicole Gruff

Should be animal related. Or some environment protection.

Should donate to any charity that helps with disaster relief for hurricanes hitting the east coast

Andrew G

Amazing! I'm doing charity streams all month for The Blue Cross who rescue animals in the UK so I'm going to suggest those if you're taking suggestions ❤️

Caroline Rhea

Wow! Leave something for you to eat, lol! But good on ya! I’d suggest Code.org myself.

AlexKorobeiniki

I am unfamiliar with specific animal charities, but I think any of those would be good. Nothing disagreeable about helping animals!

Jae Lynn

Higher Ground USA! Amazing company that sends veterans on healing trips. They changed my life.

Since it is no shave November maybe prostate cancer research or just cancer research

The Brandywine Valley SPCA does great work rehoming animals in high risk shelters around the country!

Anything for animals please 💕

Animal charity because of your animal comics!!

Dayna

World Wildlife Fund! That is my recommendation for your poll 😁

You rock. This is a great idea. 🤟👏
