Love this idea!! I think it might be a little different but Brutus was portrayed as a military dog so he obviously has some scary past and I think it’s a good idea to tell it

If Disney can show a amazing fatherly lion falling to his death in a kids movie I’m pretty sure no one is going to hate you for telling Brutus backstory on his scars as sad as it may be because at least he’s still alive.

Precisely because of the light-hearted way the comics portray difficult stories is why it's a fantastic idea!

100% your story to tell. So tell it how ever you want. I’d personally like it told as a flash back him telling it to Pixie as I have a major weak spot for when pixie has to be the brave one and comfort Brutus.

I don't know if you know this but a youtuber called Kyoto posted a video called the backstory of Brutus and Julius (comic dub) and credited the comic to you. However it looks to be of much poorer quality than your comics. It has 1.6 million views too. It has always confused me and as I couldnt find it on your instagram it was one of the reasons I decided to subscribe to your patreon as I just really wanted to know what was going on. I couldn't find it on here either and seeing as you now posted this, I know it wasnt made by you. But maybe check that out? Like it could confuse people. Idk I just thought I'd let you know. Also just to be clear im not subscribed to Kyoto, this backstory video just shows up when you search Pixie and Brutus on YouTube. Regarding this post though, I am really looking forward to seeing the actual backstory of Brutus! Im glad I decided to finally subscribe to you.

Sir, I’ve spent over 15 years in the Army and plan to spend many more. I’m not EOD, but I’ve had the honor of working with several. Your comics with Brutus feel like they come from their stories, which makes me believe you have a source you use. But that is irrelevant. Brutus is a veteran as much as any of us and dwarves his story told. I’ve deployed 3 times and don’t feel I have the story that Brutus has. I connect with him. I love Brutus and Pixie and their adventures, but I long to hear Brutus’s story.

I would second Kyle Keel's comment; I would love to read Pixie and Brutus' stories in a book, whether it be a series of children's books or a full set of all the stories, Brutus' backstory included. Either way, I would love to see his backstory!

I'd say learn and ask about being in a warzone from veterans and K-9 handlers to make it more accurate. Just a thought and it could give you more inspiration too

That would be an incredible story and I, for one, would love to read it. I get that it would be darker storyline and not a real disney fable, but, with the way you have crafted the characters and story, I expect it to be an awesome and heart wrenching backstory on Brutus. I hope you get the 16k you need to support this story.
