Regarding my latest comic.

Reading only the "Patreon" am I missing any of the strips?

I remember when this happened and I know it’s a little late now but it kindof seemed like baiting for people to get Patreon...

It would be cool to see Stella recur, maybe a good heart to heart on the difference between being a military dog and a police dog, tug the heartstrings, break my heart!!!!

Haha I do think that “love story” post funny, tho I kinda feel like Brutus doesn’t have much life outside of Pixie. TBH I’d like to see Brutus have some more equal relationships where he doesn’t need to constantly worried about others and can relax a bit. Not necessarily has to be romance like a close friendship with Stella or Mr Wrinkles would be great.

No offended at all! Brutus has Pixie and that's all he'll need. Some people need to know it's not always about the romance. A story can be told without it and still be good! However... If you do keep Stella I would love her to have the attitude of adhere by the rules kind of girl and Romance isn't apart of it!

I thought it was hilarious! Honestly I love fanfic but every time they get into shipping territory, I'm like, "Nope!". I'm here for laughs and cuteness, man. Not that there's anything wrong with having a romance in a strip, it can add for some hilarious interactions. But...totally not offended.

Romance storylines are a dime a dozen. What upset me was that you introduced a new character and then BAM! Just kidding! No new character! You really don’t need to apologize for it. It wasn’t that mean-spirited. You were much more making fun of the idea than you were making fun of the people themselves who were asking for Brutus to have a love interest.

Sorry, I’ve just read some of the other comments. Really? Really?? You’re going to tell the artist what he should draw, who he should draw and what do you include? Would you ask Charles Schultz to include a girlfriend for Snoopy? This is what happens when people become so invested that they lose touch of real life. Take a step back. It’s a comic. It’s entertainment. It’s cute. If you do not like the content, don’t look. It really is that simple.

Honestly, I'm perfectly fine with there not being a romance in this strip. The whole romance trope is rather tiresome because it generally follows a very well-worn path and it's not something I feel is really needed. Also, it'd be very dangerous honestly. Pixie is too young and I'd worry that people would start thinking that PTSD and just difficult pasts would be 'fixed' if the person fell in love. (While it may help, I rather explore other social connections than romance.)

That is completely wrong. As long as he is happy, then he is doing the right thing. No artist should ever be obliged to draw what the viewers want, unless it is a commission. And in this case, his patrons are literally just paying $1 a month. He doesn't have to draw anything he doesn't want to. It's his art. If people don't like it, then they can just draw their own. As long as he's happy with what he's drawing, it is the right way :)

I didn't care, for the split second I thought the comic was going to have a love story I was happy, then the next second I was laughing my ass off at being had. It's your art. You can do whatever you want with it!

To the author, idk if you'll see this, but you're doing great, please don't feel bad! I love romance comics tbh, but if you're not into that, it's ok! I'm just disappointed, Stella looks gorgeous. I wouldn't have ever thought of a romance in P and B until this comic was made. but as creator you can do what you want. I don't need a romance, but the tease I did not enjoy, it just made me wish for something I had no notion of beforehand.

Okay so, as an artist I have an opinion on this. Yes, you can make whatever you wish , sometimes it isn’t always the right way though. I learned that to show my appreciation to people, I should also draw what variety of them are wanting, even if I don’t like it much myself. You have millions of followers and hundreds of thousands of patreons, you could try considering what they might want instead of always what you want to make? Idk, just my opinion.

It never felt like --you-- were being mean with the joke. It's society that craps all over those who like romantic movies and even more over those who enjoy to read romantic books. And so it was just another block in what some have to deal with every day. And, I personally would love something with that character anyway, not romantic, just in general.

A part of me would have loved to see something on the lines of thar Kommissar Rex episode where the se criminals used a female dog in heat to kidnap Rex. Like getting Brutus be sucked up by the 'bitch' and the rest of the gang going to the rescue led by Pixie. I would have missed Gedeon Burkhard on his prime almost fully naked tho 😜

Even if you disagree with your fans, if you want them to keep giving you money, don't treat their enthusiasm as a joke. It's less about whether you choose to add a romantic plot to your comic or not, and more about the fact that at a Pateon-only comic, the only people who are going to see it are the fans who enjoy and appreciate your work so much, that they took the time to sign up to give you a financial token of their appreciation each month. To then reward that appreciation with a comic that was dismissive and patronizing was childish. And your "I'm sorry if you were offended" apology even more so.

The society on general is obsessed with the idea of romantic love which I think is overrated. Specially in comic/manga/webtoon fandoms. They would rather a character/person/animal be in an abusive relationship than be single and happy.

Please, please, PLEASE make Stella a recurring character, I don't care if shipping is involved, I just want her to be a character who gets speaking lines and a personality.

I think it’s a genius idea for the fan comics. You give them an idea so they can draw it and we enjoy. And then you don’t have to draw things you aren’t comfortable with. It’s a win win
