I love that they are wearing life- savers.

Never swam the Pacific, but across San Francisco Bay to Alcatraz, and SFB is fed by the ocean. Went swimming at the Outer Banks (NC), and that's straight into the Atlantic, there. Also been in the Irish Sea, which is part of the Atlantic. Wonder what Pixie would think of a state like Michigan (or Maine or Florida), all surrounded by water?

I lived in Cali for almost 20 years and my brother's buddy had never seen the ocean. We took him with us to Pismo and he was so amazed. I would recommend going up to the Sequoia National Forrest when there's snow on the ground. One of the most beautiful and peaceful places around.

I highly recommend it! I live in Texas, I've been to the coast, but I also have family in Florida so I visit the beach over there too. Wear sunscreen though, that sun can be brutal!

I live on the California coastline, so it was surprising to me when you said you've never seen an ocean in person, but then again I haven't ever seen snow in person!

I live in a country where you're never more than 50 miles form the sea. Takes me about 45 minutes to drive to salt water. This is a great reminder of just how varied the places people live are form each other.

Having grown up on the Australian coast, this is supremely alien to me. We have one capital city that isn't next to the ocean. It's so strange to think of large populations completely landlocked (I know there are whole countries that are landlocked. They can also drive to another country. It's weird).

Having grown up 15 minutes from the ocean, I can't handle being anywhere where there's no ocean nearby. I always feel trapped when I travel inland.

Get your scuba certified too before you go that way you can experience a whole lot of ocean! It’s amazing and I hope you get a chance

Wow, we gotta get you out of Minnesota to a coast! I can imagine the awe at seeing the ocean for the first time. It's been so long since my first time I can't remember it, but it still amazes me sometimes. I live 6 hours from one though, so I don't see it often. I took some teenagers to VA Beach and they saw it for the first time when we went to a historic site. Their faces, 😮.

Oh wow! I live ~15 min away from the oceanfront. Never thought much about how people who don't see them much view/imagine it.

You posted this as I’m sitting at an Atlantic Ocean beach lol. Very sweet comic! And Brutus is right, most places there is no way to see the other side unless there is some land relatively close like it is in Long Island Sound, where you can usually see some islands out land outlets, but more often that not, it’s just water as far as you can see
